The SABC posts a massive R622-million loss

Truecaller thankfully prevents me from willingly receiving or answering any calls or sms's for their licence fee collection.

Even better, I bought my TV from a friend who was leaving the country.

I simply don't receive anything and his SA number is not in use anymore so he doesn't either.

What do you think? How would they estimate actual viewers?
For the record, I think it's a good question that I'd love to know the answer for. Ballz radio comes to mind

That's why I'm asking, in France a representative percentage of the population has a little box from the Broadcasting Commission monitoring what they watch and the number of viewers is calculated according to the size of the household.

So if a French channel says that 6 millions people watched CSI yesterday, it probably means only 2/3 million TVs and households.

I don't know if it's calculated the same way here or per number of TVs.

Wish we as taxpayers could cast our votes with our wallets a'la E-Toll/SABC License when it comes to paying taxes in this country. I guess in both categories there is the option to not use the products/services but when it comes to SARS, well monopoly rules I guess. At least with Eskom we can partially vote with our wallets.
