No, don't think you'll be able to do that. It uses the software on the phone to display the slide show. If you really need to send a sideshow make one using Microsoft Office PowerPoint (on your computer) then send it... make sure the other guy has a PowerPoint viewer.
 
Need some help with removing initial password when phone boots up.

Still getting used to WM and have not found anything on the phone.
Googling has only given me recommendations of hard-resetting the unit.

Is that the only option?
Is there no option on the phone itself to change/remove/reset the password.

Go to Settings>Personal>Lock>Password

Uncheck "Prompt if device unused for"

EDIT: If you're referring to SIM pin on startup go to Settings>Personal>Phone>Security and uncheck "Require PIN when phone is used"

Individual screen orientation setting for each program

Hello all.
I would like advice from those in the know if it is possible to have individual screen orientation setting for each program on the Omnia. For example is it possible to have a ‘Landscape (right handed)’ setting for when I use my SMS/MMS messaging facility only, but have ‘Portrait’ settings for all other programs?
So when you use the phone normally it is in the default portrait setting, but changes automatically to landscape when you tap the SMS/MMS icon, and automatically goes back to portrait when you close the SMS/MMS program.
I would prefer not to use the Auto orientation facility that rotates as you move it, find that facility rather annoying.

Thanx man I thought as much seeing that I trying for long....but its still a great phone
 
How do I view network shares from other PC connected to my network from the omnia? File explorer is not doing it.

Think there are more than one ways of doing this, I use Resco Explorer to map my pc's drives to my Omnia. Resco Explorer is not free btw.
 
Just got my Omnia and loving it but have a few questions :o

  • What do you use to clean the touch screen?
  • How do you give individual people in your contacts their own ringtone? All I find on Google is $20 software
  • How do you put the phone on silent? I have an all-day meeting tommorow and can't figure this out

2. Hmmm... haven't come across this setting
3. When on the today screen, at the top right of the screen, on the left of the battery indicator there is a speaker. Touch that and then select vibrate :)
 
@ hashbrown99 on your last question.

If you drag the widget with little speaker icon out, you you can set the phone to vibrate.

Also if you flip the phone down on your desk, with the screen down, it automatically goes to silent/vibrate.

Any takers for the assigning of individual ring tones?

EDIT: ok, this is how you do it

  1. Copy/move all contacts from SIM to phone
  2. Select the contact of your choice and click edit from the menu options
  3. If you scroll down there is now an option to add the ring tone of your choice

Hope this helps some one else. I prefer individual ring tones since for some of my contacts they act as an 'early warning system' :rolleyes:

I got a "CAPDASE" cover from Samsung in Vodaworld, was the better choice between that and a "Body Glove" one. Got some round cleaning thing with it, which I use to clean the screen and screen protector as necessary.

I use a Body Glove which came with a screen protector and it works pretty well for me. How much did the Capdase go for?

I came across this on another forum when I was looking for a way to see the imei nr on the phone:

*#0*# - basic diagnostics

*#0206*8376263# - Shows a screen with the PDA/Phone version numbers, H/W and RFCalDate.

*#197328640# - Root debug menu

*#1546792*# - (Executes \Windows\AdminSettings.exe) Shows the Administrator Settings menu. In there:
1. Version - Shows a menu where you can access the version numbers for the PDA and the Software (redirects to the Settings Version applet)
2. Preconfiguration - Password is *#81230*#. Allows to preconfigure the Omnia Operator settings by changing the country and operator. Note: Changing this will hard-reset the device. This won't lock the device with the specified operator.
3. Network-Call Setting:
>1. Power On Attach: (Attach [default] or Detach) ???
>2. Service Domain: (Combined [default], CS or PS) Changes which service domain to use.

On that note, how do you guys transfer/copy movie files to your Omnia?
When trying to Copy/Paste it just hangs and wants to convert the file for mobile use, but nothing happens.

I've been trying to send the file via Bluetooth to go around it, but it's been taking forever :( :o

Excuse my ignorance :p

Probably the fastest way would be to go to:

start> settings> connections> USB connection mode> tick mas storage, then select My storage or storage card.

This will turn your Omnia into a USB memory stick:D. Remember to change it back when you need to sync with your PC again.

In the older days I used to use a app called WM5torage for the same...
