The Garmin preloaded on the memory card of the Omnia, is it a full version? I was trying it today but told me I need more detailed maps to use the search/enter address?? Anyone got Tomtom7 to work on their Omnia? I tried with GPSgate, still not picking up GPS signal?

Read that some guys on the experia thread managed to install garmin/tomtom software, perhaps give it a try?

Clean as in a stripped rom, A rom with non of those extra bloatware in it. Basically a rom with the maximum ram and storage available!

How did you get the DXHK1 on your omnia, arnt these roms area and region locked by the "DXHK1" codes?:confused:

It is possible to load another region's firmware.

Naa dude.. I will rather then wait till something like HardSPL (for the HTC devices) gets developed for the omnia's for fail safe flashing.. Dont want to have a usless R8000 brick laying around at home.. :sick: I will stick with my current firmware thanks.. 8) Will look into flashing at a later date when its more reliable like i did with my TyTn.
 
Got my Omnia yesterday, impressed so far.
The firmware that I got it with is JCHH1
Here is how to figure out which firmware version you are running:

The firmware code is split into individual sections:

i900 - > model designation (SGH-i900).
XX - > region / network carrier designation (XX = Spain - open Market).
G - > release year (E = 2007).
K - > release month (K = November).
1 - > version number.

Thats great news! Any idea on updates for garmin maps? garmap basicalyl told me its samsungs problem to suplpy updates...

Apparently allot of Omnia users don't like the volume of the loud speaker and Headphones while listening to music, movies, etc. After some searching I found a great feature the Omnia possesses to change the volume settings.

NOTE (Setting high levels could damage the loud speaker or your headphones, not to mention your hearing!)


Dial *#0002*28346# from your Omnia keypad.

Loudspeaker Instructions

Select Menu > Normal > Handset (First Selection)
(In this menu you can change various settings for the Handset/Loudspeaker)

Speaker volume: SPK(02) : Set this to -1.5db
(-db is to turn the volume down, +db is to turn the volume up)
(loud speaker on 0 will distort too much)

Digital-to-analog: DAC(0C) : Set this to 0db
(-db is to turn the volume down, +db is to turn the volume up)
(This effects the overall volume of Mp3s, movies etc)

Radio Volume: RVOL :


Headphone Instructions

Select Menu > Normal > Headset (Second Selection)
(In this menu you can change various settings for the Headphones)

Sending photo slide shows

Hi...i dont know if I'm dong this right...just to butt in here with a question...

anyway here goes...I have a few pics on my i900 and you can view it as a slide show that has coolest efects on the phone...

Here's the problem I dont know how to save it as a slide show and send it....:confused: ....any ideas?
 
I need an Omnia owner in CT that'll be willing to meet at 8pm in Maitland 2nite as I'm looking to go and buy this phone, but would appreciate a "expert opinion/user" to be with me when I go and look at the phone.

It's a 2nd hand 1 month old for R3.5k seems like a bargain.
