The Schwarts Awakens

As much as I would have liked a Spaceballs 2, I don't think a new one will measure up to the original.

Like, I also want a Dogma 2, but it will be an abomination.

I can be surprised, but your audience then aren't the same audience as today. Movies like this today, they will employ shock therapy.
Can't be worse than space fires in Acolyte and may be somewhat entertaining at least.

These dudes are gonna step back into acting in nothing but a green room and a country gdp size budget for vfx artists.

Bill Pullman still does but I’m getting this feeling they’re gonna try a reboot with the cast’s “replacements” like they tried in independence day and ghostbusters.

They don't really make spoof movies anymore. They should.

There was Scary Movie recently but that's about it I think anyway. Forgot about Austin Powers, but is that in the same category as The Naked Gun?

Airplane was brilliant and still holds up.

Of course Leslie Nielsen is the King of Spoof, IMO anyway.

Interesting watch

Its the right time for a woke woekiee. Just to fk with woke hollywood

Yeah I wasn't impressed with the new trailer either.
It's just Liam Neeson in any of his other roles.

It seems it's going to be the Pink Panther disaster as with Steve Martin. Shows you what a genius Peters Sellers was.

While the original Spaceballs is an iconic parody film uncontended by anything that came after it, I'm not sure about this announcement.

Rick Moranis is currently 72 years old.
Bill Pullman is 71 years old.
Mel Brookes is 98 years old.

Either this is going to need a lot of de-aging CGI or a major story reinvention. I'm not hopeful that this can actually work, I think this is too little too late.

I predict the the story will be more coherent than the average MCU or DCU movie. Not a good look when a Mel Brooks movie has a more coherent plot.

I agree it will probably be more grounded than a MCU or DCU crapfest, but will that make it worthy of it's predecessor? Time will tell I guess, really curious about this one.

So who will be the entitled obnoxious princess in this instalment I wonder. Well that's if they try to replicate the original and not innovate with a new storyline, which would be more appreciated in my books. As we've seen in the latest Ghostbusters, pandering to the originals isn't always the best idea. More like a continuation of the story would be good.

Man as someone who hasn't kept up with mainstream movies I hope they do a great service to this sequel. Last I heard John Candy's son was planning on playing the role of Barf, please tell me this is true.
