I took 3 grams for my first trip this Saturday evening with my wife (3g each).

We didn't make tea or anything, just chewed them up and swallowed. They tasted very dry and mouldy at first, then very bitter and earthy, then a bit mushroomy as they re-hydrated.
Not very pleasant but we both managed to keep them down.

About half an hour later the fire we were sitting watching seemed to lift about half a meter (the ground came with). That was my first sign that they were kicking in.

Everything started looking more beautiful and vibrant. A log in the fire started looking like a lizard with glowing eyes. The stars seemed an order of magnitude brighter. Faces looked like instagram filters were being applied (angelic or demonic, for lack of better descriptions). Closed eye visuals were pinecone-like geometric patterns.

I had a bit of nausea for the first hour or so but not too bad.

My wife tripped pretty hard, she kept saying she'd lost her mind. I kept saying "join the club" or something which made her laugh. We went inside and I kept her calm (not the first time I've lost my mind). TV shows (Universal channel, not sure which) seemed evil and were talking to me directly, so I watched some stuff on YouTube which was great.

Lots of introspection about life/death.

The trip was over before midnight (I lost track of time) but I only fell asleep at 4am.

Overall a very positive experience.

I'm always amazed at people with experiences like this and want to experience it myself. One reason or other I just can't get the shrooms. Something always comes up, like the last time I pay 420 monkeys R300 for 2 or 3g of penis ivy or something, as the shop comes highly recommended. I never received it, never got my refund.

Spores are very easy to obtain which you can then use to grow your own mushrooms. One grow can give you easily a year's supply.

I would probably buy spores as krieg suggested.

Easy and perfectly legal to obtain. Then just buy a prepackaged grow kit from bidorbuy and you can go wild.

I don't think it is difficult, despite my struggles. Those of us on the forum will help however we can.

I recently purchased from MyShrooms and will recommend them day or night... Pftek kit + syringe of spores, overnighted to me in PTA

Currently about halfway in my caking phase

I never did the PF Tek method, straight to Monotub for me, but if you're not pinning it could mean that your humidity is too low or too little fresh air. In what are you fruiting your cakes and did you submerge them in water beforehand?

There is a High Court case which kind of stalled that is following the same reasoning as the Cannabis trial to legalize shrooms for personal use. Spores are legal though, if you happen to forget your experiment and a mushroom appear well that's life.

I've been growing for nearly 2 years now. Sometimes I get lucky, sometimes I don't. Mostly I struggle with inconsistent germination. Once I get past the germination phase, things are generally (but not always) okay.

Why is it a hit or miss? Don't you loose money that way?

Once you're comfortable with agar you will only lose the grain inside the jar which is negligible. You can also make your own liquid culture from a syringe thus having an endless supply. One only really pays when you want a new strain.

Yes, you do, but the supplies are not expensive. Its hit or miss because I don't think I'm that good at it!

The better you get, the less expensive it can be.
