The SpaceX Thread

That was amazingly impressive. They have really done a great job with the development of the Starship. Apparently they lost fuel pressure at the end which is why they could not land safely. Might be a quick fix on SN9 which is almost ready to fly as well.

Watching all this makes me want to watch Interstellar again.

Starship SN9 is currently tracking an early New Years’ launch, providing the upcoming test series clears the path for what will be a similar flight to SN8, albeit aiming for a “softer” landing.

With the vehicle on the launch mount, the first test will involve cryoproofing as early this week, ahead of a three engine Static Fire test. Should the trio of Raptors – and their silver ringed host – perform as expected, a 12.5 KM test flight could come as soon as the first or second week of January.

SpaceX made history again, when the private space company’s CRS-21 Cargo Dragon undocked from the Harmony module on the International Space Station (ISS) yesterday morning (January 12, 2021). It was the world’s first-ever autonomous (self-governing) undocking. The Cargo Dragon is expected to make its return to Earth later today, splashing down in the Gulf of Mexico after a roughly 36-hour journey.

Can't see any confirmed times yet. Looks very windy.

something shiny came flying out of the bottom when they tried to ignite the second time. Given that they changed the motors/rockets, i wonder if someone didnt tighten something properly
