The Starfield thread

Looks like I'm done with Starfield. Started the High Price to Pay mission but no one will enter the ship. Can't progress any further, can't travel anywhere, nothing.
Ok last night I was able to go to the Eye to finish this mission. Strangely I had to switch to the ship my parents gave me (Wanderwell) for this to happen. Wasn't able to leave with any of my other ships including the Frontier.

I wonder if it's because the Wanderwell is the only ship I haven't edited yet

Will try that unofficial patch later today and if that doesn't work I'll reinstall the game.

;)

Haha, uninstalled the buggy mess that is Starfield. Will start a new game sometime next year maybe. Just have to remember to keep and eye on my saves then to prevent this crap from happening again.

Thinking of getting Baldur's Gate 3 instead

Fantastic game, I think you'll enjoy. If you don't you can refund within 2 hours of playtime on Steam. But in 2 hours you won't have really experienced much.

"greatest game ever made"

Not a chance, not even close. Great game but I won't rate it higher than 75ish.

It's subjective, for him/her it is you might rate something else as long as you are enjoying it that's all that matters.

So frustrated with Bethesda. Taking freaking ages to patch all the bugs.
I have a few quests that's bugged and wont touch until it's patched. I feel they really can fix the constant loading too. Especially the dumb load locations - for instance fast travelling to the Lodge loads you just outside the Lodge - only to undergo another few second long loadscreen when actually entering. Surely the Lodge load can take you INTO the bloody Lodge. :X3:

I just wish they do a Cyberpunk on this game and give it all their love and patch the game to where it should be ...a very good game or great game instead of just plain good game.

I hope the future patches could prioritize the following in order of importance:
1. Fix quest related bugs first
2. Loading times & stupid fast travel spots + add more fast travel options
3. Refinement in some of the areas with average to poor graphics like New Atlantis.
4. More variety in the enemies and buildings that spawn on the planets and moons - they are so limited and gets boring very quickly.
5. More points of interest and missions on the main planets like New Atlantis and the other main ones - some buildings of interest etc - why would the biggest and most important planets be so dull and have just one city? Nothing else to do. Come on man.
6. More quests with action and fun and less "fetch and return" BS quests.
7. If they are too stubborn to give us a vehicle for faster planet travel (likely reserved for the DLC) - then at least give us a better jetpack for the time being.
8. More variety in enemies. They got dull very quickly.

Taking a break from the game.... might give it another try this holiday ...asuming i'm bored enough.

There is one simple solution that would've made the game less repetitive

So, you already encounter the same buildings over and over with the same enemies even to the point that the enemies spawn in the exact same location every time

It's boring.

What is the simple solution?
Make it like in Daggerfall where the layouts of the buildings (Dungeons in Daggerfall) are randomly generated. So even if they look the same, at least the damn interior layout is different every time

That and redo the temples where you get the powers. Holy crap, those things are probably some of the laziest structures I've ever seen from a AAA developer.

In Skyrim every single dungeon that contained a shout was different with different traps and puzzles and even different enemies.

Every single temple in Starfield is exactly the same and with only one dude waiting outside after you fly through the bubbles and rings. Abysmal

I paused as well.

Game needs loads of love and attention.

As for the load screens I am pretty sure 90% of them is cause they where to lazy to add animation cause they loading f all.

Eg: In the Club on Neon, need load screen to go to second floor, yet you can jump down from DJ without loading. Even worse, In Neon you need a load screen to go from shops to ship and such but there are places where you can simply jump down without the need for a load screen. (Everything is already loaded. Hell, clipping the map and you will see everything is loaded already.

Funny enough that is not my biggest gripe with the game, as I recon SSD on Xbox is far faster than any lift animation gonna be. No my gripe is the bloody ship builder that lacks any form of control esp when it comes to interior spaces. It needs to be fixed dammit.

Also game needs more bases to explore and hidden stuff to stumble across, but thats a given. Game is bigger than Skyrim but have waaaay less wow in the world.

can anyone suggest a solution for the stutter effect and freezes the game do every time the shaders loads in an area, its annoying as hell to play and every minute it freeze for 3 seconds.I give up/

Are you running the game off an SSD? How much RAM do you have? Also, what GPU?
