The Starfield thread

K, me like, its as they say, Skyrim in Space. ie: someone applied a space mod to Skyrim.

Only 2 things that grind my gear.
No Local Maps even Skyrim had maps.
No Snap to aim <-- kinda sucky for Console to have neither KB & M nor Snap to Aim
^ Means I am gonna have to reroll as stealth as my combat skills are left wanting on controller.

As for the rest, I actually enjoy the game and can see me losing hours in it.

I enjoyed the game a lot last night.

Will really invest all my skill points in weight lifting initially. It's difficult to not pick everything up.

It really does feel like Fallout/Skyrim in space. I love that it's just pure science fiction.

I'm playing the game on easy because there's no aim assist but will probably bump it up to normal difficulty. I don't know why but in Bethesda games I find the aiming really easy with a controller.

Not gonna lie - the combat is growing on me. It's definitely more difficult but it makes it fun somehow especially if 16 red dots light up on the radar.

My least favourite part of the game is the cumbersome menu system and these dialog scenes especially if one of those NPCs say "I need to talk to you" and then it's just a dialogue of bullshit feelings or a lecture on morality.

It's enough to make you want to go solo.

Im not hamstrung, I kill things, just not a fan esp knowing that I rock in FPS using KB&M

The menu system is soooo Skyrim its not even funny, another reason why it feels like someone slapped a Space mod onto Skyrim.

I recall running Better Inventory on Skyrim so hope a similar mod comes to Starfield soon.

I'm playing it as Kleptomania Simulator and I can barely take two steps before wheezing.

Crumpled piece of paper? That's mine. Random jar? Could be useful. A globe of the earth? Yeah I'm taking that

I know that in Skyrim and Fallout 4 you could pick up useless, random junk to decorate your homes with and the junk would be saved and stay there forever on shelves etc where you put it. Is it the same in Starfield?

Because I proudly spent hours decorating my homes so was wondering if I can do that again :p

Would that not be cool, if you landed on Mars and it launched Doom.

I think so. Just need to figure out how to place items on shelves/desks etc without just dropping it on the ground.

On pc, if it's the same as previous games then you just hold the pick up key (or carry key, whatever it's called) and move the item whetever you want it.

So basically if you can't install on a SSD, don't bother
Running game 2k with high settings, no problem, but every once in a while the game will randomly freeze for a few seconds to load something, often times mid conversation so the lip syncing is also out.

Game is also... I dunno. Soulless. It's just more of the same Bethesda, but with space stuff. I'm just not clicking with it and after 2 hours I'm done.

Guess playing Baldur's Gate 3 ruined it for me. While playing this I just feel like I'd rather play BG

But, that's just my opinion.

You can drop a dustban on a planet at the start and come pick it up at the end of the game if that is what you looking for.

^ One of the reasons they opted for their own engine instead of UE5 everyone else is switching too.

Nice. I feel like that's the main reason they always include completely useless, worthless junk in their games for players to pick up. To let players decorate places lol. And it's hours of fun
