Check your GPU settings is set to using GPU or high performance. So I just discovered that Starfield is only using 2% of my GPU?
Is that even possible?
Now you will say, CPU bottleneck.
Nope, 50%
The feck is going on? No wonder the performance is terrible
Or is task manager borked?
I checked it while playing - Task manager always on top

Just because "you think the gpu is underused" doesn't mean it is always so and probably not the entire makeup of the engine's needs. Do you really think that a game engine only uses a gpu for all its tasks?Just found an article published only yesterday that the GPU utilization is a common problem and the reason why the performance on PC is so bad for a lot of people.
Bad port, like I said a few days ago
So now basically it's waiting and hoping Bethesda fixes it or, more likely, wait till mods fix their game for them
When entering a region like New Atlantis the GPU usage should spike.Just because "you think the gpu is underused" doesn't mean it is always so and probably not the entire makeup of the engine's needs. Do you really think that a game engine only uses a gpu for all its tasks?
They will most likely fix it if it is a common issue.Just found an article published only yesterday that the GPU utilization is a common problem and the reason why the performance on PC is so bad for a lot of people.

Todd Howard's response wasThey will most likely fix it if it is a common issue.
Usually the issue with new games launched and gets fixed couple of months down the line. That's why some only play 6 months after launch or when most of the critical bugs has been taken care of.Todd Howard's response was
'Upgrade your PC'
You can imagine how that went down - Especially when people running RTX40 series cards are having the same problem
Sweeping problems under the rug is a common Bethesda tactic

NVIDIA releases a new driver as an OTA update NVIDIA wasted no time in releasing a “Game Ready” driver for Starfield, beating both Intel and AMD to the punch. Considering some bugs never fixed in Fallout 4 was still present in Fallout 76 leaves little hopeUsually the issue with new games launched and gets fixed couple of months down the line. That's why some only play 6 months after launch or when most of the critical bugs has been taken care of.
Same, game running smooth in 4K with 4080 and 13700K, using 1 monitorHaven't had the low-GPU usage problem but hopefully the new driver helps with that.
I guess no further interaction is required here.<talks about links and google ignoring the direct question>
