The Starfield thread

Meh, it's lifeless. No NPC's to roll play with. It has beauty and discovery but it lacks soul.

One seems more dead than the other..... Yes but I think you have them the wrong way around :P

As for NPC's, you say that as a bad thing, I find it a pro as I don't have useless companions running into my line of fire....

I dont know. I like a world where there are people and people can interact with. A No Man's Sky with AI Powered NPC's would be amazing.

Best QoL feature:

Quantum Entanglement Device: If you do want to jump into New Game+, you don’t have to start from scratch with your gear. Thanks to the new Quantum Entanglement Device, you’ll be able to bring your favorite items with you into your new playthrough. You can expand the space in your Quantum Entanglement Device using Quantum Essence. You’ll be able to build the device in The Lodge after building the Armillary with all the Artifacts, and your items will be waiting for you in The Lodge in your next playthrough.

Have they improved the cave exploration or are they all still the same.
Yes they have apparently added variety to the installations / buildings on the planets.

A lot more detail here:

I bought the premium edition upgrade so I could carry on with the expansions they are bringing out / brought out. It's been so long since I jammed that I forgot about some of the uh... Starfield "challenges".

After a loading screen or two to get to the city I needed to go, I hit what I thought was the button to open the map and the button just changed the camera. Then it came back to me - game shipped with no map, but I remembered the big fuss about it and them adding a map later - so a few clicks later I found it.

I forgot how to change my ship because somehow my home ship turned into a potato. Had to google that and go up to an oke by the landing pad so I can get to see the same screen you can from the menu normally, except have access to the "set as home ship" option.

I still have challenges managing my inventory, I am not sure why. I think it is a me problem.

On my travels to do the tracker alliance stuff, I bumped into that Oracle spacestation and realised I was going into the Shattered Space DLC. I got in and realised that too deep, so I just went with it. As I was unprepared and already confused because I was having trouble trying to work out why I couldn't jump to different stars, I found myself in a position where I didn't have enough ammo nor did I have enough health packs. So it's been a lot of dying and trying again.

I see a last played this game in 2023 and I can't say that I have missed it.

I forgot to give Starfield some credit. On launch I was stuck with 30FPS and I endured, because I didn't feel like listening to the howl of my laptop over the ease of use over the Xbox. The performance improvements they've done are huge, and make the experience a lot more pleasant.
