The Super PSP Thread

guys, i'm in a dilemma of note! i haven't used my psp for about a month, it's just been lying in a drawer. so on sunday i find it, charge it up and i reset the date and time as it's been reset. software still show 3.40. but the problem is, none of my games that played before are working. they don't load. my psp hangs when i try and start them and the preview to the games have no sound. any ideas?

it's weird coz my liberty city stories umd works like a bomb works like a bomb.

thanx in advance

(dabl save me!)

That is rather funky hey. I can't think of any reason as to why that would happen. I take it these are the original game disc's that doesn't want to work. Are they clean, no scratches? If it's not original games then give the flash drive a good formatting and the put them back on and try again.

Thas all I can suggest, maybe dablak might have something more helpfull.

News on the 3.71 M33-2 - It's working perfectly so far, haven't had any problems. Still haven't installed the 1.50 kernel, though I am running PIMP Streamer 1.0 which is made for the M33 firmwares.

Have you formatted the memory stick? Maybe it is a bit damaged and needs a good how's your father. Oh yes, and of course it is 3.40 OE-A or something. :)

Hmmmm, I would say check your recovery menu then, enable the option to launch games without a UMD in the PSP, or if it is enabled, disable it and insert a UMD into the PSP and then launch a game.

That is the only other thing that I can think about. Other than that I would suggest getting another memory stick. However if you are able to copy stuff onto the stick and it doesn't moan then I doubt the stick is broken. The only way to properly rule out the memory stick, is to use your PC to do a propper format on it, instead of the quick format that the PSP does.

It also depends on how new the games are that you want to play, if it is a new game you'll need the latest CFW.

eish, i've done the recovery menu thing, changed mem cards, didn't try a hard format from the pc tho... i hate troubleshooting, i do it all day on ppls phones.

it's very very weird, coz it all used to work, the last game i got was ghostrider and it worked beautifully on 3.40 firmware :'(

the registry is corrupted on the psp flash 0 folder. It happens when the power of the psp is of for a long time,I had a couple of that already.
this is the fix:Install firmware 352m33-4,this will fix it.
Do not install the latest custom firmware.

Another thing can you reflash a d500 fo me and replace the ribbon cable please killa

The demo is out. Full game is yet to be released.

btw I just got a whole load of psp games today. 20+ gigs

Sorry if this is a bit random or outta the blue...

But i was wondering, well hoping if anyone prehaps has or maybe has used the pandora battery?

I wasn't paying much attention or something and I was busy changing the theme on my psp and I completely fooked it up it seems, If i turn on my psp the screen remains black and then after a bit the light switches off :-(

From what i've read online, a pandora battery should do the trick.

Blasted spare batteries are effing expensive I see here and i checked on ebay and you can pick up one for about R400 inc P&P.... prehaps is there anything cheaper locally?

you dont need to buy a seperate battery or memory stick.
all you need to do is find a friend who has a psp with OE or M33 firmware.

Do the pandora thing, then after you can reverse the changes to the battery and memory stick.

Good luck
