The Super PSP Thread

If you bought it from a major retail store you'll have no prob. Install the orig. firmware just to be safe: Going from 3.71m33 to 3.80 ofw is simple. If you're on 3.80m33 you'll need to make a pandora battery and use Despertar Cementerio del Cementerio v3 or v4

You no more need Despertar.

Anyways, go down to OFW ro you could end up voiding your warranty.
If I recall correctly, there was this program that allowed you to revive dead pixels. I haven't tried it but I know one exists.

Hi There... Please tell me what size the internal memory is in a psp slimline.

Noob question here... My slim PSP has FW version 3.7... What software can I use to play the roms?

I'm on 3.80m33-5 so I can't even run UPMS installer or DCv4 to create a magic memory stick as 3.80 firmware blocked ipl-writing to mem. stick.

I will buy a fat battery tomorrow and pandorize it using cory149's tool so that I at least have a pandora's battery. Just need the UPMS.

I guess one way to return to OFW would be to disable dark-alex's network update feature via recovery menu then do a firmware update to get to 3.80ofw, will try that.

I'm running an .mp4 file which flashes red/green/blue repeatedly. will leave it for another 3 hours and see what happens. apparently it's created new dead pixels for some people, fixed a few, and done nothing for the rest.:(

MrBZA, which emulator do you have? you need an emulator and custom firmware to run them.

Zerosplice, what do you mean by DCv4 is no longer needed?

LOL I don't have jack. I only have the iso's i d/l last night. What can i use? Sorry i got confused reading through the previous posts.

SOulman this mp4 rarely works,It depends if you have a stuck pixel,or a dead pixel. Some advise take it back, you will be better off, just remember if you read the warrenty check what sony says about pixels in your book. You will hate it
Read it...

I was just wondering if i could dump iso's on there cos my slim psp pack doesn't have a mem card inside...

To downgrade anything

Use Universal Downgrader to make a magic memory stick. Get it from:

I'm not sure what the package contains from this site cos I got it from somewhere else but it should contain the autorun.exe and AutoPlay folder. Yes it's run from the pc and is a step by step, foolproof, guide for the no0bs

Use said app to make a magic stick. No need to use pandora slim% or despertar. Takes under 5 mins with a step by step app even a toddler can run. You can use this prog to make a pandora battery as well, however, I prefer the bottom eboot.

For a Pandora Battery use:
P a n d o r a I n s t a l l e r f o r 3 . x x K e r n e l s
http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=122449

It's the quickest pandora maker out there. No need to backup your battery eeprom either. Use this eboot for pandora ONLY. The magic stick maker is not as complete as the above one.

Voila! Instant Downgrader kit. It took me ~12 minutes on my first try. Works on fake pro duos, downgrades both phat and slim (3.60 and 3.71 OFW) and installs 3.71 m33-2.

Read the readme's of the respective apps. For the pandora battery, after you're done with it pluck it back into your fhat and run the app.

Zerosplice, thanks. Would the universal downgrader run on 3.80m33 firmware as well? what can I use to make a magic memory stick on 3.80m33?

MrBZA, you need a memory card (memory stick pro duo).

thanks DBE, but is there any way for me to make a magic memory stick if I am on 3.80m33 firmware?

I see that the UPMS installer will not run on 3.80m33 due to memory stick driver issues and the 3.80 firmware blocking memory stick from writing the .ipl (msipl.bin?) file during magic mem. stick creation?

also, are all psp's prone to stuck pixels? ie. is it just a defect in certain psp slim screen's that causes the stuck pixel, is it possible to get a psp that will never have a dead/stuck pixel?

*UPDATE* 1/23/06 - UPMS Installer remade for 3.80 M33-5 now works! However, Sony has blocked ipl writing on 3.80 M33 so you will have to do that manually via the computer..
