When will it be hackable? I have no idea. Also, the latest psp 2000 motherboards (Ta-088 rev3) are also hack-proof, but they're working on it. New PSPs are expensive right now (R2400+), rather go for a 2nd hand one. If you want to buy a new Psp-2000, make sure it ships with a firmware below 4.00. UPDATE: Bought a PSP 2000 (Slim + Lite) for R1.5k with a few games. Now I will just wait until I have a Pandora battery and MMS and mod it to my heart's content :D

Anyone get eratic key movement on any games?

An example is on his ratchet and clank - the screen where all the flags appear and you have to choose your language - it goes bizerk, just moves all over the place and there is no control over which flag it goes to. Often its hard to press the 'X' button on the english one. Also in the game itself, random eratic movements happen where you also have no control over. This happens in a few other games he has.

Does this scenario sound familiar to anyone?

BTW - just bought him Wrestling 2009, i had a fiddle with it last night, looks really good, he's going to love this as he is a big wrestling fan.
 
PSP TA-88v3 motherboard hacked?

Of all the existing PSP motherboards, there 2 types that resist the installation of a Custom Firmware: the PSP 3000 and the PSP Slim equipped with a TA 88v3 motherboard.

We will focus on the TA 88v3, PSP Slim motherboard, which has characteristics of making it difficult to launch a custom IPL, which is an essential part of Despertar Del Cementerio and Custom Firmware.

As we can, Despertador21 uses Despertar Del Cementerio showing that it does not work on the PSP Slim, which is equipped with a TA 088v3 motherboard. He then inserts a Memory Stick, which is itself consistent, and then installs a Custom Firmware.

According Despertador21, the kit comes from a Chinese trader who had lent it to him. It is difficult to judge on a simple video, but it does seem genuine. PSPGEN is in contact with the member, and hopeful that they will get their hands on the files to a positive conclusion.
 
There's this guy who goes under the banner of PS Shop, who happens to sell spares. He can be found on Gumtree and Bid or Buy.
 
i've got a problem. got one of the old psp's with ofw v3.51. i checked on the net that u can open the battery and desolder pin 5. now when i open my battery ( official sony psp battery that came with it) it looks nothing like the pictures or videos i've watched. mine is a metal casing and it doesn't look as though i can get into it (fully Sealed), it doesn't have a circuit board with the chips on it. any ideas?

How do I use IRshell to use region hack for my Sony RDR-HX890

This thread seem dead so i hope someone can help me here. I need to unlock my region on my Sony RDR-HX890 with my PSP phat, using IRshell.

Being a total noob i have no idea what to do, i followed the manual just to install irshell and i cant even get that to work.

Here is a couple of links that got me to try something:p

Go to PSP mod forum. They have all the info you need on there. I've updated the firmware of my PSP from v3.90 to v5.00 without any problems.
 
Wow is this thread still active. I really miss my PSP but after having gone through more than 5 of them and not being to find a dead/stuck pixel free unit I just gave up totally.

What does the ChickHEN do?
ChickHEN as a Homebrew Enabler that allows the execution of homebrew via the PSP XMB. Running via a vulnerability in the lib TIFF the launcher takes advantage of the system by performing a kernel exploit and rebooting into a homebrew enabled enviroment. The ChickHEN remains active until the PSP is fully reset in which case official firmware loads from the flash. ChickHEN unlike other HEN's doesn't touch the flash0 and resides completely in memory. The h.bin supplied in this download consists of a loader and systemex, which is a inversed order of systemctrl and rebootex

What ChickHEN does NOT do?
-Run ISO, CSO or any other form of UMD backup.
-Run PSX Games
-Touch The Flash of your beloved PSP
-Magically allow the use of Custom Firmware
-Load plugins

How do i get the HEN to run on my PSP?

1. First off use the supplied TIFF image and place it in the PSP>PHOTO Directory.
2. Copy h.bin over to the MS ROOT and safely remove device.
2. Scroll over to the PHOTO icon on the XMB and click the ChickHEN folder and wait. (This will not work the first time, you may have to just use a method of loading that works for you but this is what we have found most efficient)
3. If all goes well the screen should blank out and flash green showing that the HEN is loaded and all is well.
4. Wait for your PSP to reboot and check your PSP's system software. It should now display: "5.03 ChickHEN".
5. Scroll on over to GAME and enjoy some Homebrew!
 
LMAO! I was also wondering the same thing! The mods will sticky other threads, but not this one... WEIRD!

I've stopped playing my PSP's a while ago since I've bought my DS. Now I'm having an 2nd hand RROD Xbox fixed for me.... So now I'll be into that for a while. :p

Can anyone tell me where in cape town i can get psp spares/xbox covers/ps3/ps2 spares.Is there no company i can get spares from.I mean there is a guy in parow but he wont sell me any spares at all.

I really need a supplier for psp spares.
