Custom Firmware 3.52 M33 Released

no games will require 3.51 until God of War comes out in a few months.
3.40 OE-A is still the most stable. And best tested firmware.

voidzero1, you have a contact in ireland and he told it works fine?
we like to do things locally around here, we are not that pathetic ;)

3.52 M33 tested, works fine. But Im sticking with 3.40 OE-A because I can customize the theme of the xmb.

Yeah, he also prefers OE firmware as apposed to the M33 guys.

And no, we ZARs are not pateties! :D hehehe So I agree on that remark :)

I've DG'ed and UP'eg many PSPs', but I enjoy the HW repairs more. Nice to see what makes those toys tick.

hey again guys, long time since I have been here. just 2 things:

1. PLEASE STICKY THIS THREAD :)

2. I have custom firmware 3.03 OE-C (if I remember correctly), and I have a custom XMB. Now for the 2 part question.
2.1 Is it worth upgrading to 3.40 OE-A?
2.2 If it is worth it, how would I go about it (with the custom XMB installed), do I have to use that themeswapper, or that flash agent, get everything back to original, and then flash, or can I just flash? (but really, is there a point yet?)

yes install 340 oe,i have it,just download the custom psp pack from qj.net,then you can have all your stuff customised still.remember to make a backup of your flash0 and flash1 files first, this is a must as you can repair it if something goes wrong

i have been using irshell for 2 years already and if you have a homwbrew friendly psp then this app is a must for all ages and ppl.It just not for games but for ppl that wanna make the most of their psp,There is a new version out now and it is very very good,I mean it does everything for you, from using it on 2000 remote devices to playing music on your psp from anywhere in the world staightfrom your pc(and browse files on your pc 1000 of km away.

This is ahman's latest release after retiring from psp coding. Its flawless.
if you not convinced buy your self a psp and get it working

its possible to use 3.40 OE-A custom xmb files on the new 3.52 M33 firmware.
so its really cool. just use software to convert the files, takes 20 seconds. RCO Upgrader.
i love the recovery menu in M33, looks cool.

I've got 3.40 OE-A. Should I go up to 3.52 M33? I heard it's still pretty buggy.

Also, I'm looking for a nice homebrew that can play video files on my psp without having to convert them first. I'm looking for a simple copy video via usb, and play via the homebrew. No conversions needed.

BTW, the best conversion sofware I've found is PSPVC or PSP Video Converter. It offers a bunch of options and while it takes a while to convert, the quality looks even better on the psp's screen. Though the size can be daunting...

there is a old homebrew that can play any format,I think its called pmtplayer something like that,I really forgot but i can look on my homebrew disks for you,

That would be nice. Thanks. Anyone heard of a homebrew called PMPVLC. Apparently it's the psp port of the coveted vlc player for the pc.

Argh.... Converting vids is such a pain. I use PSPVC. It has a number of options to get the best quality for the vid. Double passing, H264 encoding, etc, etc. Whatever does all that mean? I don't know. I do know that it creates really high quality vids for your psp but takes ages to do so.

Whenever, you find out about that player, just gimme a holler. I checked psp hacks and qj but haven't found anything useful.

You guys know how to dump a UMD to your pc. I can do it to my mem card, no prob. UMD Dax, Fastloader, and UMD Net Ripper don't work when trying to rip your umd to your pc.

Try USBSSS to rip your UMDs and then use PSP ISO Compressor to compress your ISO to a CSO (use compression option 1, it only adds +/- 1 MB more to the file size but loads faster).
