I've gone up to M33-2 but still niks. Oh well... I'll play around with it and see what happens.

What nice plugins are you guys using?
I've got the screenshot plugin and the recovery plugin. I can boot up the recovery menu at any time. Whether xmb or in game.
 
PSP online Gaming

Hey there...

Total NEWB on the forum, but i have a PSP latest firmware, and I recently bought FIFA 08 for it...

The cool thing with FIFA 08 is that you can play online, but you cant... or at least I cant.
I have a 512k line, shaped connection, with a mega 100wr router. I can connect to ea nation just fine, and play sometimes half of a full match online against someone, but it always, without fail drops the connection, and ea nation says some crap like "connection lost... bla bla bla"

This is highly frustrating! I heard you can play xbox360 WIRELESS with the same setup as mine, with no hassel. I am only using a PSP which uses far less bandwidth and stuff than an xbox...

Most games i play online start nice and smooth, then they just detariate until the online game crashes..

Is there anything i can do without forking out cash, like use a proxy for my connection on the psp, or tweak the wireless router or SOMETHING!?

well i never had that problem,How far are you from the access point.Use a default connection,Its all in the connection settings.I never had probs with disconnects.Also try not sharing the connection,dedicate it only to the psp.
 
anyone know a place in jhb to repair a psp...

my directional buttons seem to be sticky most of the time...and in menus, just scroll all the time..
 
I am sitting right next to the router...

Not sure what you mean by default the router to the psp... how do you do that... nothing else is connected to the router other than the pc but that is with the cable, not wifi...

Please can you help me in sorting this out...
 
how is your scan what strengh of the signal.Do me a favour use your psp browser and download a 20 meg file and tell me if anything cancelled out.
Do a new connection but this time use the router with no wep keys ..etc,just make it unprotected for the test and make a new connetion with the psp with no wep,try that first
 
3.71 M33-2 is bs. Every third game I try is giving me hassles. I've tried all the settings, (Sony, M33 Drv, OE Iso FS, etc) and till nothing. The latest disappointment that I tried is Tales of the World. The game runs, you create your character, etc, etc but the moment it's time to play the psp crashes. Balls I tell you!
These games are fine. They worked fine when I had 3.40 OE.
Oh the vices of avarice...
Worst part is, I can't go back down to 3.40 OE. I get an error trying to run the installer.

I'm sitting in a deeper hole still as this rubbish telkom router just gave up on me. I ordered a Netgear so I'll have to wait for that to come before I can do any research on this thing. Damnit....
 
zero pass that router on to me man,and why did you update your firmware,Just because its the latest dont mean its the best for compatibility.Always update a cfw when the beta stages are over and faults ironed out

there are 2 ways of getting out of 3.71 M33-2.
1. dark_alex has released a downgrader for 3.71 M33
2. use the pandora method.

i have done it a few times, works like a charm. you cant just downgrade to 3.52 m33 etc from 3.71 m33, you need to run one of the methods above.
if you need more help, let us know.

Well, I resorted to phoning EA in South Africa. They basically said the same thing when I phoned to ask about the same issue for FIFA 07 on PS2... GET AN UNSHAPPED CONNECTION... He went on to tell me this whole story about the EA peer to peer servers, and told me how Telkom suck, and broadband isnt "broadband" in South africa unless you have an unshapped account.

To answer your questions dablakmark8, I have 100% signal strength and often update the psp wirelessly without any hassels... So i dont think what you were aiming towards will matter... I have also created the new connection without a WEP key, and the same result occured... I think i will get a 1 gig unshapped account just for gaming, hopefully on a prepaid account, just so i can test it out 1st... anyone know of a good isp that has Unshapped 1 gig on pre paid?
 
Looks like I read your post a little to late. I am now sitting with an oversized paperweight.
I tried to go down to 3.52 m33 and voila! Instant brick.

Gonna have to run over to a friends house tomorrow to use his psp to unbrick mines. I'll use my battery and mem stick for pandora. Just need his to run the apps.
I heard there's a way to turn your battery and mem stick back to normal, so I'm gonna go that route.
