The Super PSP Thread

PlayerPal

For those who want to control their iTunes or Windows Media Player remotely using your PSP, you use PlayerPal. It is a commercial application so you'll have to pay for it. It doesn't work on Vista, and you will need the .net Framework 1.*** installed.

I tried installing it on Vista, but no luck. If anyone knows of a similar app post it here.

Note this is not for streaming media.

me and my brother went all the way to rylands athlone to fetch a secondhand psp model 1004,damn and it still had the version 2.00 on it,the perfect psp.2years old, pity it cost 1300 rand, but i was looking for this since my psp's was stolen 3 moths back.
Let the games begin

w00t! Welcome back! :P Hope to see some awesome posts from you in the future :P

lol, this is anything to do with your PSP... except pirating. Homebrew, downgrading, hacking etc.

Ok...well here's my experience with the unit sofar...

I got the ice silver unit from BT Games (CNA, Game, IC, etc was sold out:confused:)... I'm not really into homebrew (guy shouting in the backgroud "What da hell??!!??" but let me explain why... I would prefer to 1.) keep the guarantee and 2.) I have a truck load of games for my PC and due to that I never seem to focus on 1 game (unlocking all the extras, playing harder modes, finding hidden stuff, etc.) so I prefer having a legal PSP with a handfull of good quality games and discover all their is to discover about them.

I got myself a copy of Ridge Racer (R149) and I must say that it's really good....get abit hard though but I really like it. I also downloaded Crash Bandicoot (R45) from the online PS Store just to relive the good old PSX days :) ... I also placed a order for Dungeon Siege TOA from Take 2 (R138) which is currently on 24 hour special and should be receiving tommorow.

Games I still want is...
1.) FF - Crisis COre
2.) GT Mobile (whenever that comes out)
3.) Daxter (maybe, still deciding)
4.) Oblivion (of that comes out)
5.) Loco Roco / Patapon

I did however try the Medal of Honor and Syphon Filter demos and I must honestly admit that I feel I'll never be able to play with the control scheme...

Well that's my 2c ...more to come

Awesome. Yes there is no need to use Custom Firmware if you don't do homebrew. Unfortunately Oblivion won't be coming to the PSP anymore, which makes me sad in pants. Though we are still getting God of War!!! Which is going to be a PSP exclusive title.

Most older games, as you have found out are quite cheap now, so enjoy it dude :)

Sorry henD is not a hack, but it allows you to temperory use homebrew untill to hard reset your psp,So you not really lost man,and you still keep that 1 year thingy.

How exactly does this HEND work since I do indeed have a old PSX (Music 2000) game I would like to play just for the fun.

P.S. yeah add GOW to my wanted list...can't believe I forgot about that and oh, the Devil May Cry series and Silent Hill Origins

Edit: Ok I checked out Hen D...will play with it sometime... thanks for the tip

PSN Store and CFW

Hey guys, just a little note. If you are running Custom Firmware, and wan't to buy games from the PSN Store.... don't. The PSN Store uses DRM, and the games there won't play on a CFW PSP.

Rumour has it that DAX and them won't try and crack the DRM as it will encourage piracy, and we all know what DAX's stance is on piracy.

man slick i never really got down to software and testing,I see i have to do everything twice to downgrade,And everything twice to upgrade, man i thing this psp is stubbin. But now its fine but got CFW 352m33-4 in the meantime, ust wanna check the psp registry files and flash0 folders,I think this psps flash memory is not working properly.
MUst do some testing and mayber put my backup flash fileso from my old psp in there to see if this fixes the problem

That's sucky! Hopefully nothing is damaged. Maybe you should create a Pandora and Magick Mem and install the CFW with that, and then just format Flash1 from the Recovery Console. See if that fixes your problems.

Question: Can you hack the psp slim without the pandora battery without bricking it? Does the same apply to custom firmware?

Nope, there is no other way of installing custom firmware on a PSP Slim without the Pandora and Magic Mem.

Yeah you can only hack the slim via pandora, it's very easy, just remember to backup your NAND before flashing the custom firmware.

You don't actually have to touch your NAND. NAND dumping is a bit iffy and they warn of this when using the Pandora method.

No, nand dumping is fine and recommended (esp. for slim users) since it contains the unique Idstorage keys. RESTORING is a bit risky but if you somehow managed to f up your idstorage, at least you have a backup.
