The Super PSP Thread

Hi MR Killa.

You can't instal 1.5 on the PSP Slim, it will brick it yes. The PSP Slim does not support the 1.5 Kernel. I would say read on the screen what the instructions are for the version of the Pandora you have. It could be that you don't have the correct files on the Magic Mem Stick to do it properly. Did you follow the guide I found and posted here?

dude, i'll have to back to you on that one, my boss brought it from china... i'll have to take a look, let you know once i'm at home ok?

any ideas how to go from 3.52m33-4 to 3.71?

Me upgraded from m33 3.52-4 to 3.71-4 couple days back.
I suggest you follow those upgrade instructions, it's very easy and your chance of brick it during upgrade is slim. 3.52-4 to 3.71 then 3.71-4 :D

3.52 M33-4 to 3.71 M33-4

Source: http://upsp.wordpress.com/2007/11/25/guide-for-installing-352m33-4-then-371m33-3/

There you go 3.52M33-4
now on to 3.71m33
you will need
3.71 M33: http://www.psp-vault.com/UpDownload-req-…ls-lid-2140.psp
and 3.71 Update file: http://www.psp-vault.com/UpDownload-req-getit-lid-2123.psp
MAKE SURE YOU KERNEL IS SET TO 3.52
you can do this in recovery mode
start the psp up whilst holding the R shoulder button down,go to configuration find the option for kernel and make sure it’s on 3.52

Installation instructions:

First method for both psp, the prefered when possible:

Requeriments: a fat psp slim with 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4. Previous versions of M33 won’t work,

due to a bug that affects them and OE; or a psp slim with 3.60 M33.

- Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater

there but with name “371.PBP”. Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that.

- If you are in the fat psp, make sure you have configured the psp to run the game folder in the 3.XX kernel.

- Execute the program, it requires 78% of battery. If you have idstorage corrupted due to a downgrader, the program

will ask you to correct it automatically so the update can continue.

- Press X, and the Sony updater will begin. Sit and enjoy while Sony code installs 3.71 M33

- When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT. Do not skip this step

shutting down the psp by yourself, or you’ll end with a brick.

- You should be now in 3.71 M33

All you need to do now is install the updates
so here we go

installing the 1.50 kernel patch (150 kernel addon 2)
#download the 150 kernel addon 2 from here http://dark-alex.org/
#download the 150 update from here http://rapidshare.com/files/67857715/163_EBOOT_1.50.zip
#rename the 150 update eboot to 150.pbp and place it in the root of your memstick
#put the kernel 150 addon 2 update folder in GAME folder on memstick
#scroll to game on xmb and launch the programme
#thats it you now have the 1.50 kernel

installing the 3.71m33-2 update
#download the 3.71m33-2 update here http://dark-alex.org/
#copy the update folder to GAME folder on your memstick
#scroll to game on you xmb and run the programme
#congratulations you are now on 3.71m33-2 enjoy:)

installing 3.71m33-3 update

Installing 3.71m33-3 update
#download the 3.71m33-3 update http://dark-alex.org/
#copy the update folder to GAME folder on your memstick
#scroll to game on you xmb and run the programme
#congratulations you are now on 3.71m33-3 enjoy

The M33-4 update is basically the same, just download it from DAX's website and copy it into the PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder and then run it.

eiah, i dont get this part...

"Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater there but with name “371.PBP”. Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that."

the red part is what i dont get... sorry guys, but could u simplify it a bit? where is the sony updater?

That just means that you must rename the file that installs the original 3.71 Sony Firmware to 371.pbp then plop it in that folder. So it'll go from EBOOT.PBP -> 371.PBP.

i did that, but i get a weird error after it loads, says error at ..... lotsa numbers, then reboots... so i thought i was putting the files in wrong... so now what?

Hmmm... there mustn't be an UPDATE folder in the UPDATE folder. Just one UPDATE folder with the file in.

i know, i did it, if you check the mem card on the psp that update application is there, then you select it, then the loading screen comes up, then it pulls up a black screen with an error code and reboots :(

Oh waits... What kernel are you running? If it is on the 3.** Kernel in Recovery mode switch it to the 1.5 kernel and vice versa.

Hey there guys

I'll be cfwing 2 psps this coming weekend and they're both slims. Now I've done them before but, damn, pandora takes a while to do. Like 20 minutes! :p

Anyways, I'd just like to know is it possible to use a fake battery and non pro duo mem card for pandora. That would definitely make life easier for me.

It'll have to be a propper Sony battery that can be hacked, or those pandora ones they sell on the net. It is advisable to use a Sony mem stick, not sure if it'll work on a non Pro Duo, though I don't see why it shouldn't.

The guide to pandora says that a pro duo is needed. Pro duo are the larger snobby cousins of of the ordinary mem cards which in turn are more expensive.
BTW, Can anyone beat the price of R420 for a 4gb Pro Duo?
