The Suzuki Swift & Dzire Thread

Good on you Suzuki for having a decent safety package across the range (6 airbags, ESP, ABS and hill hold assist). Knocks the competitors out the park on this alone considering competitors like the Vivo, picanto, grand i10 which has much lower spec safety with generally 2 airbags and ESP only on top range
models. Good to see this shift. Now the Chinese just need to bring a small hatch back competitor to ruffle this segment but I suspect they are much more interested in the high margin SUV game.

Also a Cvt is infinitely better than an AMT so good move there as well. Can’t wait to see what the sport version brings to the table.
 
I wonder if its a coincidence that they released the new Swift after the new Vivo came out. I mean the new Swift really makes the value proposition of the Vivo look bad.

My friend had one on pre-order. Dealer phoned her at 6am today to say it got delivered to the dealership. She is collecting tomorrow. She got the GLX in blue.
She does a lot of KMs and was getting 4.5/100km in last years Swift, but she opted to replace it with the new model due to the promised improved fuel efficiency and she wanted the auto box with cruise control.

Nice, the upgrade in that case makes sense.

Any idea how much they're giving for her "old" model?
 
Think I might've mentioned it before but I wish the Swift came in black as an option in SA.
The bonnet gap is just too noticeable on other colours.

Black is available to the South African market. We will probably receive other colours in November. Currently, the vehicles received are 90% Pearl White and Silver
 
is it very different from the older ones?
or like most of these things a facelift with the under laying mechanical bits the same as the older ones.

It is a completely new vehicle. New engines, new gearboxes, new body, new interior and a lot more new features like 6 airbags, wireless android auto and carplay, auto start-stop on the manuals, paddleshift on the autos, brake assist etc. The seats are also more comfortable, and it feels bigger on the inside.
