Video shows Navy Seal's death was result of intense combat with Isis

Video footage obtained by the Guardian shows the grueling firefight between US special forces, Kurdish commandoes and Islamic State fighters this week, in which a US Navy Seal was killed.

The footage – filmed on a cellphone during the battle, which lasted more than half a day – reveals the extent to which the US military is once again engaged in intense combat in Iraq.

Provided to the Guardian by the lieutenant of an elite Kurdish peshmerga unit, the video shows a convoy of four by four vehicles coming under fire near Tel Osqof, a Christian town about 30km north of Mosul.

Amid the crackle of gunfire, peshmerga fighters and at least six US troops take cover behind an unarmored pickup truck on an arterial road leading into the town.

Syria conflict: Air strike on refugee camp 'kills dozens'

Dozens of people are reported to have been killed in an air strike on a refugee camp in rebel-held northern Syria, monitors say.

Images on social media showed tents destroyed at the Kamouna camp near Sarmada in Idlib province, close to the Turkish border.

Some reports say the attack was by Syrian or Russian warplanes but this has not been confirmed.
The strike comes a day after the extension of a truce was confirmed.

The Syrian military and non-jihadist rebel forces had agreed to a temporary truce around the the city of Aleppo, following pressure from the US and Russia..

It seems to me like someone really wants to keep the refugees flowing... Quite frankly, that could be anyone.
All actors in this conflict love refugees flowing into the west, because they are all enemies of the western peoples. I can already hear the western media practicing their tears..

They are wasting their time on me. There is nothing that they could say, and nothing that could be happening that would convince me that they should not be forcefully repelled from illegally crossing our borders, by any means necessary.

Jesus H Christ, who the fsk attacks a refugee camp

All the while Assad is saying this:

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Thursday his country would not accept less than an outright victory against rebels in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo and across the country, state media reported.

Whilst he is supposed to be adhering to terms of a ceasefire, Syria is doomed if it wasnt already.

Well, to date only one party has been confirmed as a killer of refugees: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3516594/Turkish-troops-killing-refugees-Man-child-16-migrants-shot-dead-past-four-months-tried-cross-Syrian-border-Turkey.html

In terms of the new ceasefire agreement Aleppo was only really included in the past 24 hours and even then it is temporary lasting only 48 hours so Assad can let rip in Aleppo tomorrow without violating a single agreement.

I assume ceasefire agreements still exclude the terrorists and that al Nusra is still active in Aleppo in which case it is even feasible right now for attacks to happen without violating the "ceasefire" ...

Oh please, it has been confirmed that lots of different parties are killers of civilians. Anyone of them could be responsible.

You should note its not only Aleppo, he says the entire country. The man is irrational, unapproachable and stupid to boot. He does himself nor Syria any favours with comments like these.

Civilians yes, refugees no, only Turkey. Just like everyone and their dog likes to blame Assad for any and all strikes on a hospital based on the past and no specific proof of the latest incident it is only fair then to blame Turkey for any refugee killings until proven otherwise beyond any doubt ;)

He is a leader who's been fighting a war for quite some time though while watching large parts of his homeland vanish into the hands of terrorists, doubt anyone would remain completely rational and approachable under the same circumstances. Of course that is no excuse for many of his actions, but he is far from "stupid", watch any recent interview on youtube and see him speak. Far more eloquent and intelligent than the average guy in the streets of Syria without a doubt, he may have many faults, but a lack of intelligence isn't among them.

Are you saying that if SOHR state something its confirmation and undeniable truth?

Politically he is being stupid, he put himself in a weaker position with his comments. He is also giving fuel to those that oppose him and probably weakening his alliance with Russia due to utterances like this.

All the while Assad is saying this:

It could have been Assad's forces, it could equally have been any of the others in an effort to make the Syrian government look even worse than it is...

Back to the inconvenient truth of no facts or proof.

It's a twisted conflict, with almost all parties involved having ulterior motives.

I can sort of make sense of bombing hospitals or residential areas near the war zone no matter how terrible they are but a refugee camp doesn't make any sense to me.

If you want to create the most revulsion and disgust, what do you bomb?

I seem to recall the same thing being said about stupid Assad's use of chemical weapons. We all know how that turned out.

Are you saying Assad used chemical weapons? If he actually did then it isn't smart of course.

No, I'm saying that most accused Assad of using chemical weapons when such a move was patently stupid. Instead of recognising that as a weakness in their argument, they doubled-down and used it as "proof" of Assad's stupidity.

Sorry i don't follow, are you are saying people should have realised he didn't use chemical weapons because such a move is stupid and Assad is not stupid? I don't see the connection if so, because Assad's statement comes from Syrian state media, we know what he has said is authentic.
