The Syrian Conflict Thread

Oi, don't drag me into it, I'm not referring to anyone, I just posted my interpretation of the comment in that post, I don't know who it was aimed at.

I don't think AntiPropaGanda is Serb either, I think maybe he's just a communist sympathiser, maybe a SACP member from his student days so a little brainwashed that everything Russian is good and everything American is bad.

you're quite right.
i'm having a worse day than usual today - not sure who or what to blame for it tho

I read it as he is an idiot who is sympathetic to Russia because of Serbian roots, the fact he is an idiot isn't because he is Serbian.

The Serbian bit is not necessary. We know the negative opinions of Russians around these parts and it's not right to also mix Serbs with this. Nationality is irrelevant. Let's not stereotype people here.

Besides it was an absurd ad hominem attack anyway. Just because someone may sympathise with someone else because of ethnicity does not mean they are wrong. It's prejudice and logical fallacy.

Sheesh, I was involved when the US bombed Serbia. I was there for the rescue of Scott O'Grady. Am I going to be rbp'ed?

:)

Scott O'Grady was shot down in 1995. NATO fiasco over Kosovo was in 1999. Many civilians including women and children lost their lives. It's a pity my tax money paid for that BS.

please dont tell us you are actually sitting there laughing out loud at that attempt at humour - or was the little "lol" injected in attempt to encourage others to maybe find it amusing - you know, like those live game shows on tv having an audience manager to instruct the audience when to laugh / clap / jump to their feet etc

but here, this is probably more accurate:

Why so touchy?

It was so "funny" it took me a few reads to see what [-]no[/-]joke they really wanted to impart?

Ramirez is a neocon, so obviously you'd take his political commentary seriously. ;)

not touchy at all - a dumb attempt at humor amplified by the infantile "lol"
we all know nobody is ever actually laughing out loud when "lol" is used
I don't see any "lol" though. :erm:

Yeah, I said I was involved in both :)

Which country was you paying taxes to at the time?

I just see the image, not its name. And I wouldn't put any stock in the name anyway since you'd have to name it something... I mean, what in your opinion should he rather have called it?
