Russia gets Invited by Syria to kill Isis and and those that are there illegally blame Russia for killing Syrian soldiers. You can't make this stuff up. So if Russia were to bomb Iraqi soldiers they could blame it on the USA

Lavrov Asks Why Turkey is Bombing US-Allied Kurds in Syria

It is necessary to understand why Turkey, being a member of the US-led coalition, is bombing Kurds in Syria, while the US sees them (Kurds) as potential allies, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told Italian journalists in an interview.

The diplomat reminded, that the Kurdish militia is one of the main forces fighting against Daesh terrorists on the ground in Syria.

"At the same time, Turkey is considering these Kurdish militias as enemies. So we need to understand how Turkey as a member of the US-led coalition is fulfilling its duties. Why is Turkey not bombing terrorists — if it is bombing them at all — but also the Kurds, who are considered to be potential US Allies," Lavrov said.

You have your opinion and I have mine. But I can't remember ever referring or implying that you a baboon for not agreeing with the way you see things. It's your right to believe what you want to and so mine. Insulting or being sarcastic about it is very weak and unintelligent. You know that even if Russia allowed the USA to collect the black box from the Russian jet Turkey shot down the USA would say it was in Turkish airspace. So don't waste everyone's time by trying to argue over different viewpoints your time is much better served arguing or defending yours. You like a lawyer that instead of defending his case attacks the other lawyer instead

Syria conflict: Rebels leave Homs under truce

Syrian rebels have begun evacuating the last district they control in the city of Homs under a ceasefire deal reached with the government.
Those leaving al-Wair, under siege for almost three years, will travel to rebel-held areas of Idlib province.

Homs was once dubbed the "capital of the revolution" and saw some of the first protests of the 2011 uprising.
But the truce means the entire city returns to government control, in a boost for President Bashar al-Assad.

Buses arrived on Wednesday to transport fighters and their families out of the Homs suburb of al-Wair.
About 700 people, including rebel fighters and civilians, are due to depart throughout Wednesday, Homs governor Talal Barazi said.
Fighters linked to al-Qaeda are among those due to leave, but moderate groups who have accepted the ceasefire are expected to remain...

ISIS can print authentic Syrian passports, may infiltrate US

Islamic State has at least one specialized printing machine used to print authentic Syrian passports and plenty of blanks, US law enforcement agencies warned. Fraudulent passports would help terrorist infiltrators pose as refugees from Syria.

The concern that Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) can print authentic-looking passports was made public by FBI Director James Comey, who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

“The intelligence community is concerned that they [IS] have the ability, the capability to manufacture fraudulent passports, which is a concern in any setting,” Comey told the legislators.

The threat was highlighted last week in a 17-page security bulletin sent by the Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) to law enforcement, which said IS procured at least one passport printing machine during a raid on the city of Deir ez-Zour last summer, reported ABC News, which obtained the document.

“Since more than 17 months [have] passed since Raqqa and Deir ez-Zour fell to ISIS, it is possible that individuals from Syria with passports ‘issued’ in these ISIS controlled cities or who had passport blanks, may have traveled to the US,” the report warned.

The Conservatives’ first Muslim woman MP has been targeted with violent threats on Twitter and Facebook after voting for air strikes against the so-called Islamic State in Syria.

Nusrat Ghani, the MP for Wealden, East Sussex, dismissed as “idiots” the social media users who made threats via Facebook and Twitter and said she would continue doing her job, debating national security, and trying to represent and protect her constituents.

The abusive comments and threats were posted after the vote on air strikes on December 2, and have now been passed to the police who are examining the evidence to see whether any potential offences have been committed.

Russia sends warning to West with show of strength in Syria

Until last Tuesday, America and Britain were the only countries with a proven ability to fire cruise missiles at land targets from submarines.

Then a salvo of missiles burst through the placid surface of the Mediterranean and soared into a cloudless sky, demonstrating that Russia had become the third member of this elite club.

The cruise missiles launched from a Kilo-class submarine provided visible proof of how President Vladimir Putin is using his intervention in Syria as a showcase for Russian military prowess.

Advanced warplanes – never previously used in combat – are being dispatched into Syrian skies, the best tanks in the Russian army are fighting on the ground, and flights of cruise missiles are soaring overhead.

Yet the Syrian rebels on the receiving end have no air defences and precious little advanced weaponry. There is no obvious military reason for why Russia would employ the heaviest sledgehammers in its arsenal to crack some relatively small nuts. Experts believe that Mr Putin’s real goal is to seize the attention of America and Nato. Having increased Russian military spending by at least 50 per cent since 2005, Mr Putin wants to prove that his armed forces have matched some of the West’s most formidable military assets.

The cruise missiles emerging from the Mediterranean were probably the most important element of this display.

For the last 20 years, the United States Navy has been able to fire Tomahawk land-attack missiles from its Los Angeles class submarines. The Royal Navy has done the same from its Trafalgar class submarines, now being replaced by the Astute class.

Given that cruise missiles have a range of at least 1,000 miles, this allows both navies to strike targets almost anywhere in the world, using an undetectable launch-pad hidden in the depths of the ocean. As such, the submarine-launched cruise missile represents a pinnacle of naval might.

Part of a Russian cruise missile hit a block of flats in the Russian Arctic, during a test that went wrong, but nobody was hurt, media report.
A fire broke out in the three-storey block in the village of Nyonoksa, but residents were evacuated in time.
The village is near a Russian naval base at Severodvinsk, in the far north-west. The missile was fired from a defence ministry test range.
Russia has fired cruise missiles at targets in Syria from the Caspian Sea.
Nyonoksa is by the White Sea, 40km (25 miles) west of Severodvinsk, and the test range is near the village.
Russian military investigators went to the scene after the missile impact, at about 11:00 Moscow time (08:00 GMT). Four flats and the building's roof were damaged.

Assad can stay, for now: Kerry accepts Russian stance

MOSCOW (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday accepted Russia's long-standing demand that President Bashar Assad's future be determined by his own people, as Washington and Moscow edged toward putting aside years of disagreement over how to end Syria's civil war.

"The United States and our partners are not seeking so-called regime change," Kerry told reporters in the Russian capital after meeting President Vladimir Putin. A major international conference on Syria would take place later this week in New York, Kerry announced.

Kerry reiterated the U.S. position that Assad, accused by the West of massive human rights violations and chemical weapons attacks, won't be able to steer Syria out of more than four years of conflict.

But after a day of discussions with Assad's key international backer, Kerry said the focus now is "not on our differences about what can or cannot be done immediately about Assad." Rather, it is on facilitating a peace process in which "Syrians will be making decisions for the future of Syria."

Kerry's declarations crystallized the evolution in U.S. policy on Assad over the last several months, as the Islamic State group's growing influence in the Middle East has taken priority.

President Barack Obama first called on Assad to leave power in the summer of 2011, with "Assad must go" being a consistent rallying cry. Later, American officials allowed that he wouldn't have to resign on "Day One" of a transition. Now, no one can say when Assad might step down.

Putin? Why? Did he start the war? Arm the terrorists? Destabilize syria and iraq?

AM I missing something? The russians and assad never wanted war so why is this their fault? I am sorry but I could go to syria under assad and go to a night club and not get my head cut off.

The solution was peaceful protest till the regime had to change with pressure from the international community. What happened was war with massive loss of life and the americans arming radical terrorists.

I wonder how the USA with the best intelligence in the world does not know where it's weapons are going? Where isis sells it's oil. Who the hell they are arming? The russians have to tell them? Come now.
