The Tesla Model 3 Thread

2024 Tesla Model 3 gets the same EPA range as its predecessor

The US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has completed the testing of the new 2024 Tesla Model 3 (aka Highland) and now lists its range on its website.

The agency tested the Standard Range RWD (60 kWh) and Long Range AWD (82 kWh) models but is yet to give the Performance model (78 kWh) a go.

Both 2024 models achieved the same consumption as their predecessors - the Standard Range got a 272-mile EPA rating - the same as the 2023 model, while the Long Range received a rating of 342 miles, which is 16 miles shorter than the 2023 model. This is due to the slightly lower 130 MPGe number of the current model, compared to the 131 MPGe of its predecessor.

Refreshed Tesla Model 3 Performance approved for sale in China

Tesla is set to introduce its latest Model 3 Performance to the Chinese EV market. The American automaker recently filed the necessary paperwork with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and plans to release the model in the third quarter of this year, pending the statutory public feedback.

The updated Model 3 Performance boasts dual electric motors, with the front motor delivering 137 kW and the rear motor a staggering 265 kW. This power translates to an exhilarating top speed of 261 km/h and a lightning-fast acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.1 seconds.

The ternary lithium-ion battery, supplied by LG Energy Solution, promises a commendable CLTC range of 623 km on a single charge. The WLTP range stands at 528 km, and the EPA rating comes in at 476 km - the differences are due to different testing methods, with the EPA range arguably being the most realistic one.

I saw 2 different facelift model3's this week (1 red + white seats & 1 blue) and I have to say, they look REALLY good.

Makes me wonder what Project Juniper will do for the Model-Y to get the same facelift. It's just a pity they dont deliver the cars with stalks for drive mode or indicators...but I have a suspicion EU laws are going to change that before long.

Widebody Tesla anyone? This is Liberty Walk's modified Model 3

Infamous Japanese tuner bolts some arches onto Tesla’s small electric saloon

Recently we’ve seen Japanese tuner Liberty Walk trolling the purists by fitting classic supercars with its signature widebody arches and slammed suspension. First there was the Ferrari F40 in January 2023, and then almost exactly a year later this Lamborghini Countach.

Now, it looks as though Wataru Kato has decided to go after another group of people who don’t mind sharing their opinions on the internet – Tesla fans. Yep, this is the Liberty Walk Tesla Model 3 LB E Works complete widebody kit. Big name, very big arches.

The kit is available to order now and includes a front lip spoiler, a rear wing, rear diffuser, side skirts and those giant arch extensions. Made from fibre-reinforced plastic, it’ll set you back $7,920 before any shipping costs, and presumably if you want to complete the look you’ll need to source your own air suspension kit.
