The Tesla Model 3 Thread

Tesla brings several upgrades to the Chinese Model 3

Instead of the Roadster, which was once again postponed, Tesla announced a handful of neat upgrades to the Model 3 in China today. It got a bigger screen, V2L and new interior color option.

Tesla published a few marketing images to promote the new Model 3 features, starting with the central infotainment display. Now, the vehicle comes with a 16-inch display with higher resolution and refresh rate, although the company didn't specify either of those.

The V2L functionality supports up to 2.2 kW of AC power export, but owners need to buy an additional adapter.

And as for the interior, customers can now go for the "premium" gray interior paired with a black fabric headliner.

Interestingly, Tesla added the 16-inch screen and the gray interior to its Model Y in the US back in January, so we have every reason to believe that the upgrades will hit the US market as well.

The cut-throat competition in China forced Tesla to improve in order to stay competitive.

Tesla brings 16" screen to US Model 3, alongside power and range upgrades

Tesla China announced a new update coming to the Model 3 that includes a new 16-inch display with higher resolution and refresh rate, a new gray interior option and V2L functionality. Today, Tesla USA announced similar upgrades to its Model 3 that are also coming to Mexico and Puerto Rico. Interestingly, Canada wasn't mentioned in the original Tesla post on X.

Similarly to the Chinese upgrade, the US one includes a 16-inch display that comes as standard on all Model 3 variants. The announcement doesn't say anything about refresh rate or resolution, but the Chinese announcement claimed upgrades in those regards as well, without giving any details.

Even though the gray interior isn't an option in the US, at least for now, the Model 3 Performance gets a black headliner and an EPA range bump from 497 km to 509 km. The peak power is also improved to 528 hp, up from 510 hp.

The Model 3 Premium AWD, on the other hand, gets a more serious update as it can now accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, down from 4.2 seconds. The EPA range is now listed as 557 km.
