The Tools and other D.I.Y bargains thread

Thanks so much, that's very handy info and great news.
Did you just short circuit the pack with a dumb resistive load over the positive and negative?
Just shorted out the two terminals with crocodile clips :) it cuts the power immediately until short is removed.

I was planning to get one for woodwork projects. To use as a screwdriver basically.
I wouldn't go that cheap, the chucks are also normally very sht as well, which makes using them a pita.
I'd get one of the cheaper Ingco or Total rather.
An 18V drill is probably overkill for a screwdriver, surely?
Depends on what size screw you are screwing and into what wood, I've stalled an 18v drill screwing big screws into fence poles.

Anyone have long term experience with Einhell tools? I'm specifically looking at this: https://www.toolcraft.co.za/products/einhell-demolition-hammer-re-dh32-online-only

All my other power tools are Bosch but the comparable Bosch demolition breaker is almost double the price.

this might be similar...i guess one could try find comparable specs..
i have one and its a bit light for destroying say lots of concrete.

I need a heavier duty one than that Bosch model. It has 7.5Kj energy vs 32Kj for the Einhell. Closest comparable Bosch is just under R11k.

I find it odd that the 1500watt bosch supposedly does half the joules of the 1500watt einhell...i think they are comparing apples and pears..but yes that 1100watt bosch is probably a bit weaker than the einhell

Still happy with my Ingco goodies
For day to day stuff it is worth the cheap money
It's funny you brought this up. I was really upset earlier on when it sounded like the gearbox in my Ingco drill was packing up. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened, and the chuck was making a grinding sound.

It turns out this doofus didn't engage the speed setting all the way so it was stuck in limbo between speed 1 and 2:cautious:

This is why I don't lend my tools out :p

Was on a basic carpentry course last month. Fcking idiots bought all the tools from one of these China stores.
I think the brand is Shind. 4 of the 10 jigsaws burned out in the first week.
The drilling machines are kak. Fastest speed is tortoise. You've got to put all your weight on the piece of kak to drill a hole through 18mm plywood.
