The truth about Openweb

I'm well aware of how Mybb makes it's money.
Let me rephrase or explain that question. Why should rpm feel obligated to advertise your business due to all the unpleasantness caused by your partner, if it might have angered him? Sure it makes business sense to grant CW this opportunity.
Note I'm obviously speculating here...no matter how absurd it would be if true
Crystal Web had buggerall to do with Paul's issues, and I hardly even know all of the issues there, nor what transpired. There's a distinct separation between an individual and a business they're involved in. The law agrees. But, if that is the case, simply stating as such would suffice, and life would go on accordingly. Instead, from our side, it appears far more deceitful and planned. For as long as mybb refuse to engage with us, there will remain these assumptions and they grow by the day, and are backed up by evidence to a large extent...

How odd. I don't know their model and if there are a fixed number of slots or not; perhaps there is no space atm, but to not reply at all seems very inappropriate.

Have you phoned to follow up if they have received your email?

rpm could just be flexing his muscles temporarily at CW saying...hey I can also play this fsck you game
Crystal Web has not played any such game, and the accusation that we have is appalling. We could have, and we may still, but we prefer the amicable approach with mybb who we to date as Crystal Web have no issues with, other than these recent issues...

If there are no "slots" they provide you with information and keep you up to date. Prior to this nonsense we did engage and were offered spectacular deals. And yes we have followed up, and track SMTP events from the mails...

Well ... I'd say try phoning again. Maybe the emails are ending up in junk.

As it should be I agree.

According to you the advertising dept. is not responded at all and I wonder if rpm's silence will be permanent.
If this has nothing to do with Paul at all, what would be the reason?
Another ISP's wishes being adhered to?

Perhaps. Seems our private messages must be too. And they've stopped mentioning CW in articles, and stopped asking for news comment. Yet they're currently obtaining "industry insider" comments from my employees who are not authorised to talk to the press. None of this should be in the public domain, but it seems every interaction with mybb ends up in their "junk" folders...

Shaun, Rudolph does it to me too..he even rebuffs me on LinkedIn, so don't take it too personally.
But, the chap above who said that he and Keoma are mates is speaking the truth, that is what is going on here.

As for the disconnect between Paul's conduct here and the business I could not agree more. What happens on MyBB stays in MyBB, but today I have seen how people judge me based on my sour grapes re the employment thing.

Generally around all interaction of mine with this forum has been ignored, they are quick to dish out infractions when I step on the toes of their friends, but you cannot ask for help, you cannot have a conversation with these people.

I've always had conversations with Rudolph behind the scenes. Had numerous...

Count yourself fortunate, he has yet to respond to me, in the years that I have been here. Not that I need it now anyhow

Perhaps this can get back on topic. I hold no hard feelings. Only want to know what's going on and trying behind the scenes, as has always been encouraged, is not working. Odd that there's no ISP Of The Year voting yet, with just a few days until the conference...

@DJ seems you guys at CW will have to start sharing accounts to get some ad space on myBB :p

If that doesn't work, throw a tantrum and denounce myBB along with all it's trolls.
Worked when Keoma did it:D

Ah there you go...speak to him at the conference :p

To those asking the odd question "why should they?" - please see below direct quote...

I am coming in late into the debate, but from what I understand some people want us to influence who advertises on the site, and what they can say. This is a very dangerous suggestion.

What you are actually suggesting is that we should blend editorial content, moderation, and finances. I know you would try to phrase it differently, but the moment that the editorial side and moderators start to decide on advertisers, and what they can say, the fields blend..

This site should change its name - "my broadband" connotes a sense of an inclusive-collective, a sanctuary where we all gather, value and trust each other's input, and also strive to look out for one another... sadly, it seems to me that this ethos is fast eroding... Ethics, as many are advancing here, deals with what you ought to do when considering what is right - it is not merely a clinical construct that seeks to protect editorial/moderation/finances from blending - the issues are softer and goes straight to the heart of what this site's legacy was built on too...my 2 cents, many will disagree.

too long for a sig

Someone told me Openweb runs off four Telkom uncapped ADSL as a backbone with home grade routers and a wireless link as a failover. Is this true?
