The Truth behind MWEB's uncapped

Exactly, I think it's unfair to blame Mweb for giving business time priority. I'm pretty sure that make a lot more money from the corporate clients than from the überleechers.

Exactly - I live having my work traffic prioritized during the day and the shaping toned down after hours for my big downloads etc. it lets me work and play on the same line. At least they aren't throttling the hell out of the lines like Afrihost. Afrihost nails your traffic regardless of the protocol. If companies want to compete with MWEB bring out a better package - people will vote with their wallets like they did with Afrihost.

It sounds like you are not very clear about what is possible. They can prioritise or de-prioritise anything they want based on any protocol they like. They can even make Speedtest.net reflect super speeds whilst giving us nothing. This is what people are finding out about Mweb. They are so keen on shaving bandwidth that they are pressing buttons so much and manipulating things that it is extremely unstable and unpredictable for customers.

The service is shaped, certainly it is. However the depth of shaping is very aggressive. They also degrade RS (and clones), P2P, Streaming, Games, Skype and anything they regard as affecting simple browsing on their very very narrow bandwidth.

Agreed Tanya35 , now to hunt down a better service than MWEB with their underhanded tactics.

But in the meantime, I have setup a dedicated rig to handle my downloads 24/7 so I will still claim my pound of flesh.
