Stay very very VERY far away from this pile of ****.

This is without a doubt, the biggest load of crap that Apple has ever made. EVER.

They should be embarrassed for having released this half baked rubbish.

It's flat out broken!
 
yes. if you have a mobile.me account then its awesome.

FTP publishing doesn't work, publishing to a folder sometimes works... mostly you get files which are corrupt or the WRONG freakin' files entirely... sometimes only half the updates are published, sometimes all the updates are published... it finds pages which it says doesn't exist. sometimes, it works... mostly it doesn't.
 
I hate to shatter any illusions but iweb has always been a joke.

not at all... iWeb '08 was cumbersome but it got the job done... I'm not sure how apple managed to go so wrong with this new version?
 
GoLive has not been replaced. It has been thrown away for the piece of rubbish it is...

Several WYSIWYG options exist though for Mac:
* EXPENSIVE: DreamWeaver ($400) and Freeway Pro ($250)
* LIMITED: Freeway Express ($80)
* POPULAR: RapidWeaver ($80!)
* ALTERNATIVES: Flux ($80) and Sandvox ($60)
* CHEAP: Goldfish ($40)

Try demos of each one - if the cheapest serves your needs, why bother with others?

Both are far better alternatives to iWeb.

If you want do to some heavy lifting then Dreamweaver.

iWeb has always been the same proprietary mess that frontpage was.

Again I disagree... My complaint in this thread is more to do with the fact the iWeb '09 has broken so much of what iWeb '08 was doing right..

For people like me, with ZERO html knowledge, iWeb '08 was brilliant. Simple, easy to use software, that made simple, but professional looking websites.
 
Just paid R350 to DHL my upgrade paperwork to the UK. Did any of you use the up-to-date program or just purchased out right ?. I was'nt about to go a spend R1000 or iLife 09 when I could get it for $10...mind you looking at what it has cost so far I'm half way there already.

I'll be using the iMovie and iPhoto most often until I can find R12000 + for Final cut Studio 2 :(

When I comes with my new mac I'll probably keep it but I'm not going to spend money on this. I dont do video, I have aperture for my photos and I've already expressed my opinion of iWeb.

EDIT - oh - I forgot about Garageband . . . . but then who doesnt?
