The Verge

Hey Unexpected Girl,

My 5c worth:

I've ended up watching Verge a few times now after you came and said hi on mygaming. The sms-line is not a bad idea in itself, unfortunately it's tainted by Mxit kiddies and their atrocious grammar - it is rather off putting. If they can be screened somehow to get rid of fanboys and mxit-speak it would make for much more appealing.

Having had my fair share of public speaking, I take my hat off to you for doing so in live shows each time - not an easy task while still entertaining millions of prospective viewers. However, I do feel a sense of staggering where your presentations aren't continuous enough.

This is no fault of your own - as you're spontaneously replying to sms comments etc, so you can't prepare any material for that. I do think the only way to effectively remedy this is to allow for a 2nd presenter on your show - allowing you to discuss/debate different game/sms topics. It's also not something new, as you'll notice most radio stations have backup presenters for their DJ's - therefore they no longer talk directly to the audience like a nazi propaganda track, but rather discuss issues with someone else in studio. Ergo, giving it a sense of conversation. In your case you can only really give commentary and hope the viewers respond to it. Use it/Don't use it.

I'm quite sure your show has a definite and successful target market though and even though it's not the show for me, it does not mean I think it's bad. You certainly do have a sense of quirkiness to your demeanor on camera, which I'm sure will keep quite a few viewers attracted.

Lastly - whether people love it or say it sucks - well done for having the balls to start something like this in SA instead of jumping on the SA-never-does-anything-and-if-it-does-then-it-will-probably-suck bandwagon.

Thanks :) the comments are much appreciated.

No worries. It's rather easy to sit on the fence and make cheap remarks - actually hosting a show and trying to please everyone is a whole different ballgame.

You guys should be thanks for giving it a go.

Btw, pardon my ignorance, but how many shows has Verge aired so far? The only time I really bother watching tv is when Austin Stevens is catching snakes or Adam & Jamie are blowing stuff up.
