The Walking Dead [SPOILERS]

I'm midway through S3 and have to say The Walking Dead is amongst the best shows on television right now along with Homeland and Breaking Bad.

Agreed, The Walking Dead is excellent. I've re-watched all three seasons and thoroughly enjoyed them, it is that good. But definitely not for sensitive viewers. Season 3 does not end on a cliffhanger but it was still very good. I'm looking forward to S4.

BTW
S1 - 6 episodes
S2 - 13 episodes
S3 - 16 episodes

I wanted them to sort out the Governor's storyline and finish him off or resolve some of the questions about his background but I scheme he'll be back in S4 seeking revenge against Grimes and his group of survivors. Michonne, love her with the katana, hope she plays a more prominent role in S4.

I did read somewhere that S4 will feature the Governor quite prominently. I wish Michonne was more badass.

Started watching this and currently at S2E7 and this show looks like it's getting more absurd the more it progresses. Wonder how long they are gonna stretch this out for.

Only guy I like in the show is that crossbow redneck and maybe the old toppie with the RV, the rest of them should be chowed by the zombies.

Hahahahaha...if you want absurd, go and watch Dexter from Season7 or better yet, go and watch Lost from S4...they should've ended it there but the greedy gits at ABC stretched it out to the point that ordinary fans stopped watching.

Lost I never even got past S01E04, Dexter I went I a bit further.

Does this thread have a spoiler alert as I would like to mention some stuff that really grates my ass.

Anyway I'm on S3 now and I would like more characters to die a slow horrible death by zombie, that schithead kid that so big for his boots for starters.

There's a reason I never really get into US series...

Hahahahaha. That kid reminds of King Joffrey from Game of Thrones...so annoying you want to punch him.

Not sure about spoiler alerts but I finished S3 a couple of weeks ago...it hasn't jumped the shark yet but hopefully the producers and AMC don't stretch it out for too long.

Some Walking Dead Trivia

http://sharetv.org/shows/the_walking_dead/trivia

I am a big Walking Dead fan but season 3 was kind of a let down with regard to the story development. The Governor with his eye patch and typical unnecessary "bad guy" antics. It felt a bit cheesy. I want some "real" characters back, not some samurai sword slashing jedi mute. The old Walking Dead, the one where they're constantly on the move and you're sitting on the edge of your seat unable to move, that is awesome.

I will definitely be watching season 4 though haha

I've been enjoying this so far.
Currently on S3e09.

I would have liked to see the Governor get murked by his daughter.
Sick bastard.

AMC Announces 'Walking Dead' Spin-off Series!

http://nerdbastards.com/2013/09/16/amc-announces-walking-dead-spinoff/

In a not shocking, completely unsurprising development, AMC has just announced plans for a companion series to The Walking Dead. Never saw that one coming, right? Especially after their also just announced Breaking Bad prequel series, Better Call Saul.

This new drama is expected to air in 2015 and will follow a totally separate group of survivors from Rick’s. It’ll be executively produced by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert, ensuring fans of The Walking Dead shouldn’t fear this series won’t fall in line with the tone or be of a lesser quality than the original.

As for why AMC has decided to expand on the world of The Walking Dead, AMC’s president and general manager, Charlie Collier, said, “We’d be ****ing idiots not to–sorry, no. That’s me reading between the lines. What Collier actually said was, “Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer.” Which has the same basic sentiment, really.

Collier added, “It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse.”

Series creator and on whose whim the fate of all The Walking Dead‘s characters rests, Kirkman said of the new series,

After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.

I don’t know how Kirkman has managed to keep the excitement surrounding The Walking Dead going after 10 years, but a new playpen filled with new toys should definitely help.

The Walking Dead Season 4 returns October 13th. Pumped by the news of another series set in the zombie filled world? Can AMC sustain two shows with such similar premises? Are we about to hit zombie over-saturation? Or have we already?

Must be why Fox on DSTV is showing double bill eps then, to catch up with the beginning of the new season. Cool, we won't have to wait.

Not that I watch normal TV anymore, but I read that Fox on Dstv will air new episodes of The Walking Dead season 4 within 24 hours after it airs in the US. I'm impressed.
