The weight loss thread

Down another notch on my belt. From notch #1 to #3. Final spot is notch #4.5. I had a hole punched between #4 and #5 last time I went down to 93.

If you are 100% focused and keep to your nutrients and calories then one needs nothing i agree. Snacking is fine if you snack on the right things, like droe wors, certain type of nuts and good healthy things.

However, Tesofensine helped me get over the "noise". It might be situational , but i think most people fall in this bracket.
Where like my story... Plenty of times people go to the shops, not myself. Might be my dad or people bring snacks. Then you see the packet of Flings or Doritos.

Other times also, we watch series or movies and then normally people whip out the Dips and Chips or Chocolates or Nougat and things. Me having that Salty Tooth and Sweet tooth is a hard one.

If you have Willpower, then no need for teso. I had to use it even for a while just to get out of my bad habits.
Once your into a new habit, then it's much easier to say nah, i don't need to eat the chocolate cause it does nothing for me. But whilst you have that "addiction" to the sugar or saltyness. Its not easy, specially if chips and chocolates are in house or maybe kitchen areas.

kicking alcohol almost in totality was what finally pushed me to be lower than I have ever been, I now limit consumption to 1-2 units max a week sometimes even zero. Seen nothing but great benefits.

all those calories... I need to do some serious introspection

Skipping alcohol is probably the largest contributor to my weight loss. I try not to have any during the week. Of course cutting out chocolate and ice cream etc. certainly helps.

all those calories... I need to do some serious introspection
spot on the liquid calories are DANGEROuse in addition to bad sleep and cortisol etc, when I gymed hard (1000 calorie sessions 5 times a week) my weight dropped from 114 to 97kg couldnt break this when I reassessed everything and dropped alcohol to low limits it dropped to 89kg. just my personal observation

My current diet plan due to circumstance is buying a house from a developer and moving into said house and playing spot the snags / oversee fixing of the more urgent snags for several days. At my lowest weight in about 12 months because some days I barely ate, no time... I'm not overweight but would like to get my body fat down, BMI is 23.8 currently.

On a related note, I see that Ozempic went out of patent recently though I dont think we have generics here yet and I'm not sure when that is happening. Although Ozempic is soon to be / already is old news right?

Start of Feb I weighed 85kg's and my waist was 102cm. Gave up alcohol completely and started jogging a few times a week. Hike once or twice a month. Cut out the junk good (not that I ate much.) but haven't changed my diet massively.

Today I weigh 74kg's and my waist is down to 87cm.
Congrats.

Yip alcohol seems to be the common factor in being overweight and losing weight.

Thanks. Yup back when I was 22 I gave up alcohol for 3 months. Didn't exercise, diet, cut down on junk food etc. just didn't drink beer for 3 months and I lost 7kg's.

losing weight is easy keeping it off thats hard part just saying
true that hey.
I've been 60kg at some point in life & when I look back, I realised that it's because I wasn't drinking. So some serious retrospection is needed. And permanent lifestyle and health decisions need 2 be made.

I used ozempic 8 months ago and it was a wonder drug at the time. I lost 10kgs in 2 and half months and stopped. Started again 6 months later and it did absolutely nothing. Appetite didn't go away and was as normal as ever. Then went on to Monjouro and exactly the same. I started retitrutide last thur and lost 1 and half kgs in less than a week. My appetite still normal so I guess its the 3rd peptide thats working. Have no idea why the other 2 stopped working. Pharmacist said I probably need a higher dose of the other 2 glp1's. Well lets see how it goes in retitrutide over the next few weeks

How much do they cost? individually?

I've fortunately never let my weight get too out of control, I've never been skinny or never had a six pack, I was probably skinny fat in matric, the heaviest I've been in the last 30 or so years since matriculating was 6kg over that weight which I reached earlier this year. Moving house during this last month I lost 3kg, there was little time to eat during the day and now I'm used to it, eating a very light lunch, minimal breakfast, I'll just keep it up for a bit.

We had junk food for dinners many nights due to no time to cook, and i still lost weight, but that's also portion control, even though KFC was on the menu a few nights I never went overboard, small chips and a chicken burger or wrap and I am good, hold the sauce please... I'll try to keep it up eating, light meals during the day, when I start hitting the gym again my appetite will spike for the 36 hours around that time. I think I can lose another 3kg over the next 6 weeks, and then any more weight loss than that I think then I might have the beginnings of a six pack.
