That's a solid pace you're keeping there!

I have been very overweight for most of my adult life. Getting married made me fat  Actually leaving home did.

I have tried all sorts of diets and they work for a while - but I always end up putting the weight back on. So I decided to go to an Endocrinologist and make sure I have not damaged my body completely yet. Luckily I am not prediabetic and cholesterol is fine. She did find that I am insulin resistant though. Fasting insulin was much too high. So I opted to start on the GLP-1. Been on the 0.25mg for 4 weeks and have lost 8kgs and quite a few cms from my waist. My BMI is noticeably lower too.

I know a lot of people are against these meds but for me it helps well because I get fuller faster. So I eat less. I stopped most carb and sugars and coldrinks, only have a diet drink occasionally. I prioritise protein and veggies with fibre in, drinking lots of water and I stopped alcohol. I think sometimes you have to weigh the pros and cons and decide what you are willing to do to get what you need. I need to be able to move easily - which I cannot do at the moment. As we get older, movement becomes more important.

I think in your situation it warrants it. In a few months you'll be used to not having sugar and alcohol. If you maintain that when you reach your goal, you'll maintain without the need for drugs.

My system is simple, avoid junk food, cut out all sugars, halve my alcohol intake (yeah don't want to give that up totally ;))

You don't have to give it up. I do because I literally have a whole person to lose. So eventually I will allow it occasionally. But I do feel so much better not drinking. I can drink a lot without it affecting me much.

There is no reason to be against these meds. Sounds like its working well for you. Good luck on your weight loss journey.
