The weight loss thread

Everyone and their second cousins goat is warning people about weight gain after coming off of GLP and others.

Anyone prescribing any form of pharmaceutical for weight loss should be doing properly counseling and education as part of the process. If you start with crappy habits and do anything to get results (be it a crash diet, medication, starvation) you are highly likely to put the weight back on afterwards (and often more) if you don't make changes.
Crash diets, weight-loss medication, or starving yourself are not the answer. Instead, cut out added sugar, refined carbohydrates, and highly processed foods. Focus on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods with plenty of protein to keep you satisfied and support your overall health.

You may lose weight more slowly, but it's far more sustainable. More importantly, you're building healthier habits that can last a lifetime. The goal isn't just to lose weight, it's to become healthier.

Yeah I’ve pretty much cut out all sugar in its various forms. Also no alcohol during the week helps tremendously.

Not keen on using drugs but I can see how that can be helpful to some people.

6 months ago, John was headed toward:

→ Worse type 2 diabetes
→ Higher blood pressure
→ More fatty liver
→ More medications

Today he’s headed in the opposite direction.

He came to me taking Ozempic, glimepiride, metformin, and losartan.

Instead of chasing weight loss, we focused on improving his metabolism with:

• Low-carb, high-protein whole foods
• Resistance training
• Intermittent fasting

6 months later:

• 48 lbs lighter
• Waist: 52” → 45”
• Triglycerides: 404 → 143
• A1C: 7.5 → 6.6
• Fasting insulin: 42 → 21
• Off Ozempic, Glimepiride, and Losartan

He’s still not at his goal.

But he hasn’t seen this weight or these metabolic numbers in over a decade.

Obesity and type 2 diabetes aren’t caused by an Ozempic deficiency.

Whenever possible, treat the metabolic dysfunction driving the disease, not just the symptoms.

That’s how you change the direction of someone’s health.

Well done, man. I didn't know you were a doctor and MD nogal.

Federal litigation alleging GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro caused severe gastroparesis, intestinal blockages, and other gastrointestinal injuries without adequate warnings to patients and physicians.
