The Witcher 3 Official thread

For schits and giggles I set the settings to 1920x1080 on ultra the other day
It runs surprisingly nicely considering how old most of my PC is :D

Anyone having an issue where the game "crashes" visuals stop (crash to desktop) working but you can still hear the sounds and menu clicks. Ie the game is still working, just the graphics are not working.

End task and restart the game fixes it but, meh, mission.

Very rare, maybe once in a couple hours, just lame when it does.

All of you are making me jealous on Saturday I am going out to the store to buy new console with witcher.

Eish no, this game needs to be played on PC.

Yep, gotta agree. This game is much better on PC. Higher framerate, better graphics, natural mouse movement makes you really appreciate the beautiful scenery, loading times are much shorter and you'll have access to mods when they start to appear. Plus games are cheaper on PC. I paid around R650 for the Enhanced Edition that includes the Expansion Pass. Just the base game on console costs much more than that.

Oh, so you guys don't use an Xbox / PS4 controller then

I do often, but not with Witcher 3. I use my gamepad for racing games, sports games, side scrollers and fighting games.

I did give Witcher 3 a try with the gamepad but it didn't feel right. It could just be that the game is very well calibrated for mouse and keyboard.
I see we are doing this again
PC is objectively the best platform to play this game on though, for the reasons mentioned in my previous post. Especially for someone who doesn't own a current gen console. He should be aware that the entrance fee for W3 is not that high.

I only use my controller sports games and fighting games although i did use it for Dragon Age Inquistion as i hated the pc controls -_-

Witcher 3 runs amazingly on a keyboard & mouse.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen mouse and keyboard controls more terrible than Inquisition. For me it's unplayable without a gamepad.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Will give it bash with KB+Mouse first then.

PS: Thought a controller might be better for the combat bits (speaking out of ignorance here - Batman Arkham was brilliant with a controller)

Personal preferences may differ, but I find combat with keyboard and mouse second nature in W3. Just as natural as moving about.

Anyone seen a changelog yet?

Apparently it's up for [-]potatoes[/-] console too.
