I'm not saying its fake, it is very real. It's a de facto web language. You have Wordpress, MediaWiki, Facebook heavily invested in it.

It does not make PHP a well designed and thought through language. It was a hack that could do the job, and was readily available. We are talking about a language having calls like mysql_escape_string and mysql_real_escape_string(yes I'm aware it is deprecated) it is one big spaghetti mess!

But as a PHP developer, you will always have work. I'm just not willing to perpetuate this #@$! anymore.

My favourite, not that I have experience with many others.

I think even though I have not touched it in decades if you gave me a list of opcode mnemonics & a harware reference guide for the cpu architecture I would be able to hack some code for it. Always been a fan of 680x0, mips & pic, never been a fan of z80, x86. Got tired of basic & by age 13/14 started 6502 assembly. Last time I touched assembly was in the 90s when I did some guy on ubuntu forums varsity assignment for him as he was desperate, not something I condone.
