The worst-rated mobile networks on Hellopeter

Mobile networks are often on the receiving end of angry customers who feel they are not treated fairly.

Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, and Telkom have come under fire for a range of reported problems, from “disappearing data” to being signed up for WASPs without their permission.

In JHB friends and family often have no signal with Cell C - but seem fine in Cape Town or Durban. Not sure why.. otherwise all the operators are mostly commodity like and it doesn't seem to really matter, all equally good/bad.

Hmm, who do I choose

MTN, who stole my data a few times and were patronising when I tried to resolve
Telkom who effectively have no support (when you need it)
Vodacom who charge more so should be able to afford a better service

tough options ...

You probably loose the plot anyway on Hellopeter.

If I have a complaint then I am already in an emotive state, and most of the time logic and reasoning go out the window.

Logically if I am writing a report I am going to give 1 star, heck if you really cheesed me off do you think I will give you 4 stars and move on . . . And most of the time you get a stock standard response from the companies.

You better off sitting on a phone, escalating the problem and standing your ground.

Vodacom, the lowest user rating and the highest 'Trust' index. Suspicious.

Cell C looks overall the best. BTW, The only network we have a company rep on the forum.

True you will give the offending company a 1-star every time. The problem with sitting on the phone is it chows away at either your work or leisure time - so costing you $$$s for every minute wasted and killing any entrepreneurial energy or creativity. It pushes up your levels of toxic stress hormones and cuts into relaxation time. Basically you can't win once you've been screwed and then it sits as a bad memory.

I know it SAYS mobile network but how did you/hello Peter determine that the dissatisfied telkom customers are complaining about telkom mobile

I think we can add Afrihost Mobile and the smaller providers (they all have similarly poor reviews). I guess there just is no mobile provider that provide service and part reason is the lack of concern about service when taking out contracts, I think most of us simply look at the bottom line and they all know it.

Hello Peter is NOT a accurate source.

Only people who are already pissed off go there.
What do you expect the results to be?

Go with the "best" rating of a bad bunch perhaps...

How many are paid employees instructed to leave good reviews?

I will say it again.

Hello Peter is a crap site.[/QU
There are companies that respond to complaints on HPeter, it's clear that companies that want to, can turn the rating around by solving the issues. There are good rates out there from the same people that originally complained. It gives us a voice.

I can agree to that if they charged the posters a monthly registration fee like the hold the companies at ransom.
There may be more constructive complaints then, because every moegoe will not be prepared to pay to bad mouth a company

Telkom just did the stupidest thing, and I call it stupid because I am angry.
I find an offer for 7.5 GB for the same price that I used to buy 5. So I think, "great, I won't buy 10 gigabytes like I normally do..I will by 7.5"

Only to find, when the Sms comes through to confirm my purchase, that the billing per megabyte is higher..

Have they helped me?..no. they tricked me, and I have lost value for my money. Have they made more money? No.. because I bought the smaller bundle, trying to save money..

Why is it that the networks are always " catching" people who are trying to save money and giving free things to people who have loads of money???

Crooks, and stupid ones at that..

Very angry
