Typical of just about every view that sakkiegp expresses, right down to his blinkered support for the ANC.

And that is why the ANC gets voted in. Anc supporters thinking foreign investments is overrated.... they don't see the sh@t hitting the fan

And Zoomer.. there is no hope for our country. Having a Std 4 president doesn't make good business sense.

At least the president tried, and didn't stand up and blame:
The British
The colonialists
The third force
(any other outside influence as normally used by bob)

Now he must rather do and then say what he has done to increase growth.

LOL, peeps worshiping foreigners who invest small change into the country while they ignore domestic investment. I don't think FDI has ever been more than 10% of our country's overrall fixed investment per year. Of cause the cumalitive stock of FDI is much higher but a foreigner who came into the country many years ago will be very stupid to now leave because of what Zuma has said, there's been much more nonsense in this country.

So, why did the ANC want sanctions if they're small change? Why did the ANC appeal to the international community to intervene?
And now, you dismiss them as irrelevant.

How much worse do you think it can get (probably a noob/stupid question) ?
I am going to UK in August and getting worried about this...

Well...my friend in UK praying for it to hit R20.00 to the pound cause he is considering buying a flat in Cape Town again..but will only do it if it goes to R20.00 or more. It has hit that level before...but long ago. My housemate does not think it will go that far again. Guess we will just have to wait and see. Pray Zuma keeps his trap shut also.

I was living in the UK when that happened. I came here on holiday - it was an absolute jol.

I'm looking to transfer a few £s myself in the next few days to buy a car so I'm kind of hoping that Zuma runs off at the mouth a bit more… and then shuts up so I can afford to fill the tank.

I bought my house back when it was R16/17 to the £ and it was a pleasure. :)

Lol fantastic :D

It's the beginning of the end. When historians look back they will wonder why nothing was done to prevent the fall of SA as a country.

Must have been a long excruciating wait for the country to "fall" since 94. Enjoy this "end".

hahahaha. That was funny.

Well...if it does hit that mark then he will have to have a property ready to go cause he is in the UK and I am sure it takes a while to finalize such a sale..so if the Rand appreciates again before the deal is done and money transferred he is screwed! lol. Timing will need to be perfect.

Luckily the guy I bought the house off also had a UK bank account so we just transferred it across. :)

You can transfer the money here before the deal is concluded ;)

More and more Hanlon' Razor can be applied to the Ruling Party. Devoid of true intellectuals, economists and real leadership and...slowly the epitaph of the ANC is being chiseled into the granite. Hang in there boys and girls, this necessary passage in our history, we were called to bare...but a new dawn is not far off....

Not necessarily

In this case it is a surety.

The R could have gone to 9.30 and it would still have been manageable, now with it breaking through the R10 barrier, well let us just say we will feel the effects a lot more prominently.
