R15.89.. I still think it will settle at 15.50 if the finance speech is decent.

Then when the digital stocks tank, I don't think the one recently was it.. We will see Rand strengthen drastically unless something weird happens vs SA elections and Zuma skirting laws

When is the finance speech and what are digital stocks ?

Plenty articles about how tech stocks are getting hit hard this year e.g. www.wired.com/2016/01/the-market-wants-tech-companies-to-prove-their-worth/

Basically they overpriced in many cases vs their income so it was bound to happen. Services companies got hit the hardest from what I recall reading.

Currently it's what R15.71.. I think the rand may be on a perma strengthening/improvement cycle for a year or three .. We will see but yah won't get back to where we were(add about 10% to last stable point) unless commodities are needed badly again or SA changes economy. Still this is gonna be a crappy year in SA

The market is now slowly realising that undifferentiated online advertising now means Facebook or Google, so any other company that needs to generate revenue in that space is in for a bad time, i.e Twitter and LinkedIn.

Price % Change
Rand/$
15.46 1,71%

Was like 15.79 earlier today....what happened?

I dunno, but I like. Makes saving up for my US trip easier. If it would go back to R10* I'd be ecstatic :D

its wishful thinking, I know. but one can only hope
:p

and i fondly remember my usa trip in 2012 - R8.5/$ - :)

all things considered, if we stay on 15.5ish for the next 10 days, i wonder if Pravins budget might break it into the 14s?

Ta da.. +/- R15.50.. And many doubted

So now to see what happens next @Finance Speech, ConCourt and if Zuma disappears..

It's not just that, cloud stocks died with exception of Netflix.. (Media so not quite same as business cloud). So SalesForce lost a LOT

First we get digital stocks and now cloud stocks...

This morning I bought 5 Euro for 70zar from a car guard... Back story, he came up to me at 6:30am, while I was checking the waves at our local beach. Apparently some tourist gave it to him a few days ago, and he can't change it at the bank as needs a passport, proof of residence, etc - all hassles for him. So, I offered him R70 for it, not having been keeping up with latest exchange rates and I can't do calculations that early in the morning. He gladly traded it.

Got back home and hit up XE just to find out it's worth over R85.

Will change it to Korean Won when I get back to Korea next week. xD
