The Zimbabwe 2013 Elections Thread

If it's rigged does it really matter if you vote? So mugabe will win again and morgan will cry foul and well yea there we go. Back t square one. Time and money wasted.

Going to cast your vote in a rigged election must be terrible though. You know your vote means nothing. They have disputed the outcome time and again without anything happening and it's been declared free and fair by the AU, the flippin AU declare something free and fair while they support governments who steal and ruin the lives of millions. Welcome to africa.

The AU is scared of Mugabe. Ever noticed what all African leaders do when Mugabe says jump? It's a resounding "How high boss."

When Mugabe was at war with the Rhodies, where you think all his manpower and support came from? That's right, everywhere except inside Rhodesian borders. Mugabe has all the contacts going all the way to very top where the air is thin. Evil crafty bastards all of them.

Accept Zim Vote Result: SADC

Southern African regional bloc SADC on Friday urged Zimbabwe's election rivals to respect the results of the vote, as the spectre of unrest hung over the crisis-wracked nation.

"In democracy we not only vote, not only campaign, but accept the hard facts, particularly the outcome," said the SADC's top election observer Bernard Membe.

I didn't say it is the problem of US.

I just show everyone the hypocrisy of US.

Why? There are hundreds of other countries that the US doesn't get involved in, some of them even have oil and other reserves.

It would only be hypocrisy if they actually got involved in EVERY single one of those other countries, but not Zimbabwe.

Edit: ONLY Afghanistan war is not for money / oil. it is revenge.

Regional Block says too soon to call vote 'fair'

Southern African regional bloc SADC said it was too early to declare Zimbabwe's disputed election fair Friday, but noted the vote was free and passed off without violence.

"We have said this election is free, indeed very free," said SADC's top election observer Bernard Membe.

"We did not say it was fair... we didn't want to jump to a conclusion at this point in time," amid deeply divergent accounts of voting.

President Robert Mugabe's allies have claimed a landslide victory in the polls, which has been dismissed by rival Morgan Tsvangirai as a "sham".

The African Union has declared the poll free and fair, but independent observers have reported a litany of problems, including around one million voters being turned away.

With 600 observers on the ground, the verdict of the 15-member bloc will be closely watched by western nations barred from monitoring the poll themselves.

SADC negotiated the creation of a power-sharing government in the wake of 2008's bloody poll.

With the spectre of fresh unrest hanging over the crisis-wracked nation, SADC called on all parties to accept the result.

"In democracy we not only vote, not only campaign, but accept the hard facts, particularly the outcome," said Membe, who is also Tanzania's foreign minister. sn-arb/dh

What do you want them to do? Invade every country that has dodgy elections?

I am fine for them when US invades any country (including China and Russia) for their own benefits, but don't tell me their action is justifiable because they are for the democracy and liberation of the people.

for zim case, is that at least they should be sanction against any country who is supporting zim? (like Iran)

And here is a list of countries with proven Oil Reserves....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_proven_oil_reserves

As you can see, the US has only invaded or had dealings with a small fraction of them.

you don't understand what I mean.

Oil is NOT the excuse for any invasion.
Oil / Money + bad government (dictatorship, no democracy, bad human right, etc) is the excuse for any invasion.
only "bad government" will not lead to any invasion.

And I gave you a list of ALL the countries in the world.
There are MANY of them that have "Oil / Money + bad government (dictatorship, no democracy, bad human right, etc)" as you say it, but the US has never invaded them.

In other words, your argument falls flat.

I really don't understand what you are talking about. why you can't just give me "one country" (from your "list")?

I can't find it from your "list".
