Just checked their coverage map in Durban. They are quite close to my place of work and my home. About 2 km away from each. Now if only they could put up stations covering my place all would be good ;-)

I've seen Neotel laying cable in Mowbray, Cape Town...

Where do you see the map? I called them again tonight. Apparently still no coverage (I'm in the middle of sandton goddammit!) They say planned roll out is October... I tried browsing their site but no luck (third bottle of wine though, so not too sure if I'm missing it!) :p

Would Neotel please hire more teams, especially here in the Western Cape?

no Update in Cape Town Areas in the last 3 weeks

I thought that they roll out an area every week.

Forget about Cape Town and Durban Neotel, your real money and consumer base is Gauteng :p

Could someone perhaps inform Neotel that?... their advertising on TV and Radio, and of the 50 people I know in Various parts of Gauteng who have contacted them 3 people were covered... that's around 6%?

Nothing is happening in Cape Town. :mad:pathetic:mad:

Totally in agreement.
Patience may be a virtue but i have run out of it!
How can i help Neotel and spread the word[as i always do], if they don't
rollout!
Especially in the WESTERN CAPE/CAPE TOWN/BERGVLIET/DIEPRIVER/LUTON ROAD AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[OOPS]
Dont us mybroadband forumites get special preference due to being a very
valuable minority in the country of general ignorance in this wild jungle known as Africa????:o
I better calm down as i have obviously overdosed on coffee again!:D:

Be patient people, from what news I have gathered Neotel is doing a stellar Job with regards to expanding their network, laying fiber cables and such.God I don't drive for more than 2 k/m before I see yet another trench being dug for the laying of cables.

All in good time,it's not like you can't see progress because its obviously apparent.

Thats another problem.....the trenches all over Gauteng has added about 10 years worth of wear and tear to my car in the past 3 months. Wish they (or whoever digs up the roads) get a proper contractor to re-pave the road surfaces.

like I know Pretoria's municipality it might take 14 years to fix a road look at what happened to the watermeyer one :> Hope neotell has has faster lifestyle then they have.

I saw Neotel on Friday morning doing some sort of work on Plattekloof road in Cape Town, near where pick n pay and the Nashua building is, I know there are new office buildings there and future construction as well.
Also where I live a long long stretch of pavement has been dug up, I haven't seen Neotel signs for that but the cabling/pipes they laying is bright orange as well as the construction net things, but might just be the municipality.

I saw the same thing in voortrekker road past Bellville police station and asked one of the workers that was busy cleaning who they were doing this work for. He answered Vodacom.

ok we saw them digging and laying cables for months but their coverage map dont look like its being updated
