Pardon the new thread.

*shrug*

Thanks for posting the photograph, gives a good idea of the mood and will of the people.

Mostly peaceful as well. All those people entered the square through military cordons where they were patted down (separate entrances for men and woman) and checked for weapons.

You can see protesters riding on tanks etc and have a general good vibe with the military. Military has also said they are not there to stop the protesters., just to maintain law and order.

Unfortunately like a lot of those things there are always bad apples looting and stuff but the general populous also seem to be out on patrol at night sorting these okes out.

Dunno how many people there are but they were hoping for 1 million in Cairo & Alexandria.

Got to be organization going on from within the mosques huh?
I don't know for what reason but when the question gets asked whose taking over the reigns the answers aren't very direct

Hopefully they're more successful than their brethren in Iran

"We will not be silenced, whether you're a Christian, whether you're a Muslim, whether you're an Atheist, you will demand your goddamn rights, and we will have our rights, one way or the other! We will never be silenced!"

I like that comment. Epic. We need more people thinking like this and acting like this.

+1

Unfortuantely, it seems turning into quite a (middle) East vs. West scenario, something I predicted/worried would have come out of this constant fighting and profiling.

Well the US/west are keeping people in power who are doing nothing for the people.

It was bound to back fire. I mean back a guy but ensure the country moves forward, don't just pay billions and ignore the people of the country, because those people you want on your side.

I wonder if this is going to ripple through the rest of Africa?

serious, you have a link to this? free food for a year? what like bread and milk or full on woolworths monthly shop?

Hopefully we will see a lot of changes in governments now that they realize how much power the people have when they stand together. We will owe these changes to the Egyptian people.

The Gulf Arab state provides a cradle-to-grave welfare system to its citizens who receive most public services and petrol at heavily subsidised prices and pay no income tax.

Sheesh, not a bad gig! Guess the pre-requisite is being Muslim?
