The Bok side to face Samoa Saturday includes five black players - JP Pietersen, Ashwin Willemse, Waylon Murray, Wayne Julies and Ricky Januarie.

Excuse me, but at least 3 of these players aren't black....they are in fact coloured as in. As in coming from the cape district. You know, a Capey....

Black in my opinion is like xhosa or zulu...eg. someone like Chilliboy or Sephaka etc. How in the hell can Watson be classified as a black player? What did he ever do? So if I can prove my ancestors fought in the struggle, I can benefit too??? This is the message I am getting...

This 2008 will never happen....idle threat, political hocus pocus...They just want to creep under our skins...thats all....

Don't worry over the problems of tommorow, tommorow brings its own problems.
 
Actually it's our pick and choose politics...
PDI = previously disadvantaged individual = black / coulered / indian

But to some coulered / indian folk, PDI = presently disadvantaged individual, since they feel they don't quite fit into the BEE system.

I can't speak for anyone myself, but it's all rubbish politics.
Why choose anyone who isn't the best for anything at international level.
No problem with fixing the education and sporting system at development level...

Actually, they are in fact black.

According to BEE legislation: ‘‘black people’’ is a generic term which means Africans, Coloureds and Indians who are also South African citizens or permanent residents of the Republic;
 
The whole degrees of blackness thing is a South African invention. In most other parts of the world, like in hte staets, when people ask you what race you are, then I (as a coloured) would just say black. I have made the mistake of telling a few people I am referred to as a coloured. They dont understand what you mean and the easiest way to explain is to tell them you are of "mixed race".

If you wanna talk colour then IMO if you are not white, then you're black. The whole black and coloured thing is a construction of the apartheid government which it used to divide people.
 
The point here is that these players are not white. That is all that matters to the presidency.

So then Indian people are black too? Ethnic groups should stand proud for their heritage....I believe in another construction, that Government sees everything apart from the WHITE MALE as black....

The whole eye for an eye thing....purely a vendetta to "get us back" for apartheid by touching "the white man's sport".

Ag please, Government should go and look in the Platteland and see that it's not only white people that play rugby, BUT the majority of supporters are white. So now you are killing off everything the white man likes.

If transformation is their intention, why so few white players in Bafana Bafana? Then one could argue that more Indian people should be represented in the Proteas cricket team (btw I think it would help-we suck).

If one race or gender is singled out for termination...that must constitute rasicm. I believe it is against the spirit of rugby and everything it stands for. Rugby should build friendships and unite all races, not divide and sow hatred so a few fat cats can smile while they are sitting on the crapper, trying to dump the BS they talk all day long...

Give rugby back to the people...where it belong. Leave out the politics, it serves no purpose, because black, white, brown , yellow etc. we all deserve to play and it should be a constitutional right, unless Government is planning on rewriting the constitution to put a big, fat chapter in about how they want to regulate sport.

Ps. Why are they training thousands of black kids to swim and not a single white kid?? Is government so green with envy that our national swimming team is almost all white and they can do nothing about it??

I was making just a joke.

It's funny how they, the current government is all for human rights, acknowledging the atrocities of the past, equal opportunity for all which is contradictory (BEE?) etc, yet they'll group coloured people in to the same group as black people, thus not letting them represent who they (the coloured people) are.

i dont think the government even knows blacks out number whites 8-1, 5 of those blacks live in poverty, 2middle class and 1 upper class

can someone tell me if the ratio for poor whites and poor blacks is around the same?

People will be shocked to hear that you get poor white people too you know and its the parents who have to pay, not the children...theres a difference...I feel that such a project (what else can I call it?) must at least benefit all children, because some parents simply don't care enough too teach their children how to swim or even pay for lessons for that matter....black or white.

And you get white people of mixed race... i.e. coulered whites. Then there's hispanic, portugese, british, french, etc. Eish, it's confusing.

If you think about it, the previous government started the whole thing of being white enough or not... our current government wants to keep that flame alive - always wanting something to point a finger with.
 
yes but the ratio of poor white to poor blacks is astronomical man

plz when your talking about maybe 400000 really poor whites, to what lets see about 5-10 million really poor black families if not more

dont think your arguements hold up in terms of white poor ppl vs poor black ppl

let keep perspective of what the government is trying to do, better the majority of poor ppl in this country

as stated the white afrikaaner government said white and black, the black government says black and white

i'll bet you okes thought nothing back in the day when blacks had selected area's in which to move, atleast white ppl are free to piss anywhere they plz

Not sure thats the case, whether they do better than the previous gvt or not. Maybe i should rather say, they could do better. It's in EVERYBODY's interest to uplift the lower class to working middleclass.
 
yes but more so the class who have never had a chance at anything

if you wanna argue whites are bad off, just think about the past and how many millions of blacks had to 100 times worse

plz this o we are white and the government is bad thing is rubbish, yes the government is bad but lets be thankful that we didnt turn into zim
