Do university and schools nowadays (or have they ever) host "career days" - that's something I am used to from overseas - kids get exposed to artisans and their trades as well as to corporates across various industries. As part of the career preparation work at least overseas students learned how to write a proper CV and introduction letter, how to go through an interview (with mock interviews hosted by representatives of those corporates). All the anxiety of that first interview and do's and dont's were almost non-existent as students had the necessary preparation.
When I look at some of those CVs (but being honest here, I have seen some comical CV examples of some very senior people as well) it does feel, that people try to do their best but lack complete knowledge how to write a CV. What puzzles me is that no-one actually bothered to ask their teachers/professors for help.
