McBride fired.
Manto fired.
Other useless ministers fired/resigned/moved.
Manuel still running Finance.
Spring.
2010.

Discuss.

now; if only selebi and ivy can be added to that list too

it all looked gloom and doom at the start of this week, but there has been a shake up and it looks like people are starting to wake up. I like seeing politicians fighting and people getting fired, things are happening up there and that is good!

All we need now is the ANC to split up and form two powerful parties that oppose each other and then i'll be super happy, no more of this 2/3 majority crap.

+1. Also need Motlanthe to do such a good job that it leave the ANC no option but to keep him on.

Dare I say it but maybe getting rid of Mbeki was done in the interest of SA?

It's all bubble, the calm before the storm. The worst is yet to come. If you think Robert Mugabe is bad, wait until Zuma gets his chance.

And you this how?? Worked under the man before?

Over 150+ people, known to me alone, not counting the thousands out there, can't be wrong, can they?

Anyone who sings a song about killing other people, is serious cause for concern.

Well I got it as my ringtone - I'm a proud supporter of our new government.

Good for you mate, whatever blows yer kilt up hey
I'd like to hear what song you will have on your cellphone when this place has gone the Zimbabwe route.

You must be the healthiest man with that kind of mindset. :(

Agreed. The aftermath (shake-up) seemed to be for the better, not the worse. Finally some good news!

+100. I think that would bring a way better balance in all things if there were 3 parties with some say.

Also I am willing to sit with idiots in the less important offices, but things like health, head of the police (selebi is an idiot), etc etc we need capable people... I just hope the gouvernment relises this sometime....

Look, I don't like Jacob Zuma and never have BUT you can't just say he'll be bad in the job without substantiating it or giving some sort of thought behind your view.

Oh, and the song he sings doesn't mention anything about killing anyone. Yes it's Zulu for "Bring me my machine gun" but there isn't mention of killing. It's a metaphor, as are most struggle songs. It's a freedom struggle song that the MK soldiers and freedom fighters sang during their rallies. Mandela danced. No one complained, it even became his trademark. Before Shilowa became Premier of Gauteng he was a Union leader and he would sing at rallies. Same goes for Tokyo, Cyril, Tito...all sang, all danced. Mbeki just chose not to that's all.
