Things are looking up for SA!

I can't wait for you to "GTFO out of SA". Minus one problem.

Thank you, a new addition to my ignore list. Yet another deluded person who thinks SA is just fine and dandy. I pray that the sand will eventually be removed from your eyes before it is too late.

Oh **** it seems I stepped into the Zuma supporters camp here. Sorry about that guys, I'll post elsewhere. Please do me a favour and ask a mod to clean out my posts here. I'd appreciate that sweetly, thanks.

I think things are looking up for SA too, I also think Mbeki being fired was good for the unity of the ANC because Mbeki was his own man, he was Mr. know it all and didn't listen to his fellow party members and that's not really how one is supposed to do things especially in the ANC. Mbeki was starting to act like a dictator. But he did a good job as president of the country and I'm proud of him and his achievements, his only flaw was the HIV things, Selebi saga, defending Manto and defending Mugabe, otherwise he did a great job but at the end of the day he caused divisions within the ANC which in turn is not good for the country

I think and have faith that Motlanthe will do a good job in as far as stabilising things, maintaning investor confidence and calming things down until the next elections. But I really hope that the anc decides to make Motlanthe run for president in next year's elections because zuma is bad for the image of south africa.

I really hope that people like you leave this country...!!! You only see the negative and never the positive.

Turiko, it's not about supporting or disliking anyone. This is our future here, personally I think every South African needs to understand what goes on in politics and WHO these people are and what their backgrounds are...and be objective about it. Being negative about everything really isn't going to solve anything.

No one knew a thing about Kgalema Motlanthe before yesterday. I'm sure few even realise the man spent 10 years on Robben Island and was mentored by Walter Sisulu, Mandela's right hand man and why even the opposition parties want him to be president and not Zuma.

It's about time something drastic happened in our government. Maybe all the commotion the past week will scare some politicians into becoming proactive, or risk being "recalled".

I'm glad to see Mr Manuel is still running finance.

Why the fear for when Zuma takes over, Kgalema Mothlante, was in effect appointed by the NEC of the ANC to be nominated as President. Now that he is President he will be guided by the policy decisions taken at Polokwane, in fact any decision he takes will be after consultation with the NEC, who by the way decided on the cabinet

Look, I don't like Jacob Zuma and never have BUT you can't just say he'll be bad in the job without substantiating it or giving some sort of thought behind your view.

Jacob Zuma received bribes from Shabir Sheik. How can we entrust the highest office in the land to a man who's available to the highest bidder?

McBride fired.
Manto fired.
Other useless ministers fired/resigned/moved.
Manuel still running Finance.
Spring.
2010.

Discuss.

Just moved as far as I know.

Among the surprise changes are the shift of Manto Tshabalala-Msimang from Health to the position of Minister in the Presidency and her replacement by the respected veteran ANC MP Barbara Hogan.

Agreed but at the same time our judiciary hasn't proven this either. Bribery to you and me takes two to tango but by law both parties have to be fully aware of what is happening. Example, i'd like to be your friend so i transfer R100 into you account every month but you don't realise I'm doing this because I want to be your friend. I'll be sent to jail for bribery but the state still has to prove you were aware you were being bribed.

So in essence, Jacob Zuma's lawyers are saying he is a bit dumb and didn't realise what was happening.:rolleyes:

I don't like him and think he is a shady character but I also don't know him from a bar of soap. There must be a reason why so many judges have ruled in his favour and there must be a reason why intelligent people like Tokyo Sexwale and Kgalema Motlanthe would support him...

If you just put money into my account and I don't know about it you have not bribed me. I need to be aware of the money in order for it to be a bribe. Zuma was fully aware of the relationship he had with Shaik and if he appears in court he will go down

Not. You have to be aware as to WHY i'm putting the money into your account. Thats the fuzzy area his lawyers are playing it. Did Zuma know WHY Shaik was giving him money...

Shaik got the right to use Zuma's name when doing business dealings. Nothing in life is free. If Zuma didn't ask what the money was for, he is not as street smart as his supports make him out to be.

That Shabir Sheil bribed Jacob Zuma has been proved and tested in the highest court in the land.

This is the quality if individual the ANC is offering up nowadays: DUMB!

At last count two judges have ruled in Jacob's favour. Neither of those judgements addressed the substance of the case, but rather the procedure involved.

He's either dumb, or a crook or both (I'm inclined for both).

Presidential material no doubt about it.

Voting a different head, is nothing like voting a different party. Zuma fans seem to think it is.

Catch a wakeup, as that chicken in the morning used to say.

Agreed BUT as you say, it was proven that Shaik bribed Zuma...but it hasn't been proven that Zuma knew it was a bribe.

Thats what you pay millions in lawyers fees for. For them to find loopholes in the law. So even if it means portraying him as dumb as long as he remains free. The public who love this man don't really care if a judge says "you're stupid" as long as he walks out of that court free. Look at the rape trial, his supporters overlooked the fact that he cheated on his wives, didn't use protection, spoke of women as cheap utensils, used stupidity as an excuse i.e. showering.

Yes but to get to final judgement you have to follow procedure. See point above about paying good money for good lawyers.
