I've been with Cell C for 5 years and have sadly been very disappointed with them for much of that time... However their new data offerings are awesome, I mean they're cheaper than ADSL ffs! :wtf: I think what they've done is a massive step forward for the mobile data industry in SA...
Obviously there are many things they can still do to improve their offerings (and not just in the data arena). There is:
1. Revamping all of their 'old' data bundles to be more in line with their current special offerings. (http://www.cellc.co.za/internet/our-costs)
2. Allowing both contract AND prepaid customers to bolt-on these data bundles to existing packages.
3. Also making that process much easier (like VC have) by allowing customers to be flexible and convert airtime to data bundles or buy bundles with internet banking etc. Much better implementation of USSD codes goes hand in hand with this...
4. SMS bundles could do with similar treatment - and actually it's about time a network other than Virgin offered much better SMS deals. We all know smses are currently over 90% profit for Cell C, VC and MTN
5. Dropping their OOB rates from R2/meg (this price still makes me furious)
6. Actually start passing on the interconnect rate cuts to consumers
And most importantly:
7. Improve customer service levels! Granted I haven't dealt with them in quite a few months, but it has never been a pleasant experience for me...
Actually the last 4 apply to all the other networks too...
If Cell C could do all these things they would fast become the best network in the country
So to Lars and everyone else at Cell C, keep this turnaround going and people will probably start falling over themselves to be with Cell C!
The End.
