No disconnections here either for a while but my connection is still a heap of steaming dog turd covered with scaly maggots burying themselves into the fresh putrid filth.

i.e. My connection sucks in case I was a little too subtle.

Maybe I should ask the broader MyBroadband community. What kind of max speed should I realistically expect from the Neotel Prime device? Some shmuck of a tech from Neotel told me that the device wont let me get more than about 50 kB/sec downloads. Is that true?

Once upon a time when my connection was good I got 90 - 100 KB/s. Then it kinda degraded as the tower got clogged to around 10 - 40 KB/s... and then the disconnects started (blah blah you all know the rest).

With an empty tower, and good signal, 100KB/s is possible on Prime.

Well, I hate to say it but if something isn't done soon I will have to cancel with Neotel. As much as I hate the Telkom Monopoly (and it still is one) the quality of my Internet is far more important to me. I do not have DSTV and don't plan to as I use the Internet for my entertainment. As it stands I can't do that because of the crappy quality of my connection.

No disconnections here, but what I have noticed is my connection will 'stop' transferring data for a while (minute or so) then resume... very irratating.

Hmmm WTF Neotel

Last Result:
Download Speed: 374 kbps (46.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 721 kbps (90.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Same spot of the router where I used to average 1.6 -> 2mbps

:(

I am getting so annoyed cant even vpn to the office to do some work

Those are good speeds for the flex service - just because you were spoilt for a while, doesn't mean it will last!

oh yeh, I beat you today for download:

423 kbps

and upload, wait for it, an incredible

5 kbps

Hugo if you read this - 5:eek:

Noticed that too but it was only affecting my http traffic. Disconnections seem to have been resolved and I'm happy with my current download speed of 1.78Mb/s :D

Must admit the last weekend was very good, well done Neotel!

Noted

Noted all of below, fluctuations shouldn't be unless of congestion.

No idea on disconnects but a simple 8 meg dl on neotel said it would take 2 and a half hours and on adsl it took 3 mins.

Getting worse and worse and now i have my staff giving me crap about it so will be cancelling very soon :)

p.s. in Bedfordview and i have moaned before and it gets fixed for 1 day then back to the same old rubbish.

Bedfordview

I know there are 2 new sites up in the BFV.

Prob is those that alot of users there that have antennas pointing to one of the old base stations, don't shift towers and the congestion problem remains, we are busy with a project to pin these users and get them to adjust the antennas or remove them.

Hugo

Why can't you just run a report and see who is connecting to what tower, then send guys out to 'adjust' those users...

Neotel using dodgy 'untested' software again!?? ;)

Not using an antenna just the modem itself, been pathetic for the past 3 weeks or so (staff been complaining for way longer than that though)

Cause that doesn't indicate specifically whose using an antennae to that tower...
