People that demand thanks really piss me off.
The other day I stopped at an intersection waiting to turn into a 4 lane road.
The traffic had backed up all the way from the previous intersection, luckily someone had not blocked the intersection and left a gap for me to turn into the road, and rightfully so because there were yellow markings on the road showing that it should be kept open.
So I squeeze past the cars and turn into the far lane double checking all the blind spots for cars, as i go past I hear aggressive hooting. I got a bit of a fright thinking I had missed a car and almost had an accident - but then I look behind me and there are no cars.... so I carry on and this woman pulls up next to me waving her arms like I must pull over.
Still very confused I open my window, just to ask what the problem is.
She just shouts "Say thank you !!!" "Just say thank you"
In my haste to navigate the road I had neglected to thank this heroic driver for leaving a gap as legally required.
My fok marilieze, get a grip. I thank when I can but be sure, there is no obligation to thank people for obeying the law.
