Halloween. Having to answer the doorbell every five minutes to give sweets to some snotnose kids who can hardly arriculate the words "thank you" and have to express delight about their crappy costumes. Since when is it good to teach kids it is OK to go begging sweets from strangers?

In spite of Hubby's protests, I put a polite note on the door stating "no trick or treating please due to illness". I told hubs it is not a lie: I am sick of Halloween. Worked a treat and beneficial too : opportunity for kids to read AND a lesson in boundaries and respecting requests. Win-win.![]()
