My new irritant is my neice who is 3.5 years. She has a very loud voice and screams instead of speaking and is basically spoiled rotten and is hyper on sugar and causes havoc because of her parents.

Whenever they come over, I discipline her by making it clear that she is doing something wrong and explaining why it is wrong to her. The parents disapproved so I made it clear that they needed to be better parents.

Suffice to say they didn't like it at first, but grudgingly admitted it a few weeks later.

I was staning in the door way when it opened...started walking out and this woman looked at me and almost shouldered me as she was trying to get in. No culture.

I met a very 'cultured' old gentleman yesterday. I held the shopping centre door open for him and the teenager with him, both of them were pushing shopping trolleys. Usually I just get thanked or a smile if I do that...not this man. When I turned around from closing the door he has his hand on the youngster's arm to stop him pushing the trolley further and with his other arm he motions for me to precede him. You could have knocked me down with a feather...such old school charm,don't see many gentlemen like that any more.

This has turned into a bit of a "people-watching" exercise for me...I'm old-school by upbringing on this front so I'll do the traditional thing either way...but the reactions are what interests me.

I'll hold 200 doors open for you/strangers...purely because I'm interested in the reaction.
