Jeeez man, amen.
Just after my father passed away last year, his laptop started acting up, with mechanical sounds, etc. So I used Veeam to create a backup of the thing.
The laptop died shortly after the backup. And shortly after that, the kunts broke into my place and stole the laptop.
As fate would have it, the external that I backed up to was still plugged into the laptop when they yanked it from my office desk and ran through the house to escape through the window they came in from. External drive dangling along, only to come loose from the laptop and fall on the stairs by the window they went out of.
What are the odds?
Also, I bumped into them, as the etter was entering or exiting the window. I swore him and his mother a bit and turned around back upstairs to go lock the kids in the room and call security. Insane.
